You've got to love Michael Moore. He's running around promoting his new film that says capitalism is a terrible system, a rotten to the core philosophy. But hold it. Didn't Moore have to raise money to make the movie through capitalistic vehicles? Or did his dad give him the dough?
In one of his many interviews, Moore began lecturing President Obama: "You are one of us. ... This is not the time to be the representative of the private health insurance industry. We need you to stand up. ... And we want universal health care for every single American, and we want it controlled in a single payer system..."
Wow, anything else, Mike?
I'd love to know how President Obama feels about being told what to do by the likes of Michael Moore, a man who admires the Cuban political system. I'd like to believe the president tunes out radical stuff, but there is growing evidence that he does not.
When asked about the ACORN scandal, Obama said he wasn't paying much attention to it. Hard to believe, but possible. He also said he had more important things to worry about. True, but you can walk and chew gum at the same time. The president should have condemned the corruption at ACORN, a group that fervently supports him. But the president did not.
The far left also wants out of Afghanistan, continuing to believe that al-Qaida and other terrorists can be contained by simply ignoring their presence. At first, Obama labeled Afghanistan a "war of necessity." Now, he can't decide whether to honor his commanding general's request for more troops there.
Is Obama listening to the radical left on the issue?
And then there's the loopy Center for American Progress run by Obama adviser John Podesta. They want a huge value-added tax dumped on consumers in order to pay for entitlements. A VAT would pick your pocket when you buy things. That would hurt working Americans big-time.
Didn't Obama promise not to raise taxes on working people? I believe he did. But the far left doesn't seem to care about that and is pushing the president to hike taxes.
So the picture is pretty clear. The president remains under pressure from the far left to radically change the country. But all the polls say that most Americans don't want radical change. They don't believe in it, to use an Obama platitude.
President Clinton faced the same pressure in the early 1990s but manned up. He disappointed the radical left with welfare reform and a number of other moderate/right positions. He was easily re-elected in 1996.
But I'll make a prediction: Barack Obama will not be re-elected if he continues dancing on the far left side of the floor. Michael Moore and his crew speak for a very few Americans. Thank God.

Mr. Moore make a strong argument which is quite contraditory to his own lifestyle. In North Korea he would be hailed as a hero. He also may loose a bit of weight eating their limited cuisine.
Let's say we exile him for a year and see what he has to say upon his return?

Just a simple question. Why is all the attention on insurance companies when the 9000 lb gorilla in the corner is the outrageously high cost of CARE. $14,000 for 1 chemo session, $30,000 for 3 days in a hospital with no surgery or high cost services, (for profit hospital, by the way, whcih seems to be a dirty word for any other industry these days).
I am not an insurance company advocate, but if we don't balance the discussion, the problem will never go away. You will simply replace high premium for ever higher taxes, and cost of health care will continue to increase at a rate of 15% per year.
Full body scan MRI was $800 10 years ago, but now they charge $2,000. Why??? Could it be because they can, no competition? Oh, by the way, the appointment is 2:00 AM because they are runnig 24/7. Could we use a few more? Can you say profit?? Let's discuss the whole problem.

Dear Bill O'Reilly. As usual, good article! Federal (local and state) deficits are soaring, but with the incompetent politicians, this will continue until Taxpayers have had enough, wouldn't you say?
From 1998 until 2004, I asked the NRCC why Taxpayers couldn't get honest answers from
politicians of all affiliations. The form letters they sent in return, hand stamped, written by a
staffer, made me wonder where the greedy politicians stayed all the time. It further told me that
politicians had no interest in anything except their very deep pockets.
Economy never fully recovered from the 70's! Due to lack of American businesses, higher taxes,
plastic cars and other overpriced consumer products, these greedy politicians should have been
concentrating on America's future. Politicians should have started cutting their salaries,
retirements, taxing and spending and going over the high-dollar budgets, line by line, until
everything was cut back fifty (50%) percent.
The enormous debt brought about by incompetent politicians, high salaries, retirements, social,
welfare programs, and frivolous overspending should have stopped. Instead, it's now boiled over
like a run-a-way train. The only thing the greedy politicians can say is ‘I inherited this debt!'
Instead of cutting and changing what should have been done, they're way of thinking is still ‘we'll
stimulate the economy with more bailouts and handouts' and once the great recession ends, we'll
reduce the deficit!' A little late, wouldn't you say? All Economists and Taxpayers, know the
politicians will never get control of the imbalances; therefore, it's time to hand out pink slips.
I pointed out that all manufacturing jobs had to be brought back to America. We couldn't be a
‘service country'. The only thing America is servicing is unemployment, social and welfare
programs. It's now late October 2009, and the trillions of dollars, borrowed without Taxpayers
consent, is growing to the point it's making Taxpayers think “Who's going to own America when
the interest isn't paid?”
I further pointed out that Social Security belonged only to Taxpayers that had worked and should
be their retirement! Folks, through corrupt and greedy politicians, social security has been
borrowed against for illegitimates and people not wanting to work leaving nothing for the people
that paid money in. Democrat and Republican Taxpayers, of all races, should be outraged by the
radical and socialist proposed Healthcare. Anyone, with common sense, should have guessed that
1012 pages (unread by politicians as usual) wasn't about Healthcare but about hidden agendas and
building a bridge over the sand in the Arizona desert.
What's really going to happen to Social Security since there's no one working to pay into the system
for future generations? Do you think the politicians are going to continue to hand you a check that
you're not entitled to?
Politicians say ‘you must volunteer and give back to your community!' By the way, why don't you
get off your duffs and volunteer at homeless shelters and without the secret service, since this costs
Taxpayers. While I'm on a roll, you could also donate eleven (11) months of your salaries and
retirement benefits to Taxpayers that's having to work two (2) jobs just to survive due to your
incompetency!
By the way, Taxpayers ‘Pledge to Fight Socialized Medicine!'
