Humor columnist Bruce Cameron's latest book already set for silver screen adaptation
Columnist Bruce Cameron's newest book, "8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter And Other Reasonable Advice From the Father of the Bride (Not that Anyone Is Paying Attention)" doesn't hit stores until April 8, but the project is already being adapted for the big screen.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed last week that Cameron's book, the sequel to the popular "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," has been picked up by 26 Films and will be produced by Wendy Finerman of "The Devil Wears Prada."

The first "8 Simple Rules" book was adapted into a highly successful TV series starring the late John Ritter, and the new adaptation promises a similarly wry sense of humor. Few plot details are currently available, but The Hollywood Reporter states that another producer Chydzik Sowa has said that "the plot will revolve around a divorced dad juggling a younger girlfriend and two daughters who both get engaged at the same time."

Cameron joined Creators Syndicate in 2001 and is the recipient of the 2006 Robert Benchley Society Award for Humor. He has also won two National Society of Newspaper Columnists awards for best humor columnist.
