Creators Artist Wins Reuben for Greeting Cards
Over the Memorial Day weekend Creators Syndicate cartoonist Carla Ventresca received the National Cartoonist Society's Division Award for excellence in greeting cards. Carla, who, along with Henry Beckett creates the comic strip "On A Claire Day", was chosen by a specially-convened jury made of up members from the NCS chapters.

Carla is a graduate of Syracuse University where she majored in art and communications. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she moved to San Francisco where she worked in advertising as a junior copywriter.   In 1993, she began her own greeting card line, Carla Cards.  She moved back to the East Coast to Boston after meeting her husband, Henry Beckett, where together they continued to grow her card company.

In 1999, Carla signed on with Recycled Paper Greetings and became one of their bestselling artists. Carla recently signed with American Greetings, where she creates cards with Henry Beckett, with whom she also co-creates their nationally syndicated comic strip, "On a Claire Day".  They currently live in Nashville, TN.
