Congratulations to Creators Syndicate cartoonist Dave Coverly!
Congratulations to Dave Coverly, creator of the cartoon panel "Speed Bump", on his recent nomination for the Reuben award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. The Reuben awards are distributed each year by the National Cartoonists Society and are considered professional cartooning's highest honor.
This is the third nomination for Coverly, who was also nominated for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year in 2004 and 2005. In 1995 and in 2003, "Speed Bump" was given the Best in Newspaper Panels award by the NCS, an honor for which it was also nominated again in 1997, 2001, and 2002. In 1998, the same organization gave him another award for Best Greeting Cards, which were nominated again in 1999.
The winner will be announced over Memorial Day weekend at the 61st annual Reuben Awards, to be held in Orlando, FL.
