Bruce Beattie wins 2009 Sunshine State Award
On May 30th the South Florida Society of Professional Journalists announced the winners of its 2009 Sunshine State Awards. Bruce Beattie, a cartoonist for the Daytona Beach News-Journal whose work is syndicated by Creators Syndicate, won the award for editorial cartooning.

Adrian Raeside traverses Antarctica in his grandfather's footsteps
The Other Coast cartoonist Adrian Raeside recently traveled to Antarctica to retrace the footsteps of his grandfather, Canadian-born Sir Charles Wright. Wright was the physicist and glaciologist on Robert Falcon Scott's 1910 Expedition to the South Pole and is the subject of Raeside's forthcoming book, Return to Antarctica.
