It starred George Clooney and Nicole Kidman. The film itself also has a plot vaguely similar to that of "Seven Days to Noon." NBA legend Bill Russell grew up amid severe racism in rural Louisiana and encountered more of the same in his early years in the NBA. In 1961, Russell refused to play in an exhibition game in Kentucky when a local restaurant wouldn't serve the black players. He later became active in the Black Power movement and remained distant from Boston fans, skipping both his own induction into the Hall of Fame and the retirement of his number by the Celtics.
