But "The Lion King" does bear a suspicious similarity to the Japanese anime TV show, "Kimba the White Lion," also known as the Jungle Emperor. For example, Kimba talked to his dead dad in the clouds and got advice from a wise mandrill while coping with comic relief hyenas. Sound familiar? Clark Gable proposed to Carole Lombard in booth 54 of the Brown Derby in Hollywood. There were actually several Brown Derby restaurants, part of a chain famous for buildings that were literally hat-shaped. The chain was launched by Bob Cobb, for whom the Cobb salad was named.
