This probably ruined any tourism industry along the Ebola River. In fact, the Ebola virus is a lot like the Marburg virus, which was named for a city in Hesse, Germany. This happens a lot. The Norwalk virus may be associated with cruises, but it is named for an altogether pleasant community in Ohio, where it appeared at Bronson Elementary School in November 1968.
