Trivia Bits for Wednesday, August 19

High School Reunions: I've always been fascinated by famous people who attended high school together. If you know of any, send them in. A good example is the pairing of Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand at Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. They not only sang together in a Brooklyn high school choir, but they later had a No. 1 duet called "You Don't Bring Me Flowers."

Hey, Over Here: Talk about missing out on the glory. Harry Steinfeldt is the forgotten third baseman in one of baseball most famous infields: the Tinker-Evers-Chance combo that became so well known for its deadly double plays that it literally inspired poetry. This would be Franklin Pierce Adams' verse in "Baseball's Sad Lexicon" from 1910.

As it happens, shortstop Joe Tinker, second baseman Johnny Evers and first baseman Frank Chance weren't statistically all that impressive.

In his message to the Roman senate, who described his recent victory over Pharnaces II of Pontus in the Battle of Zela as "veni, vidi, vici"?

A) Caesar Augustus

B) Claudius

C) Julius Caesar

D) Nero

Previous answer: Felines have 30 teeth (including canines).
