At Least He's Used to the Makeup: Gene Simmons, aside from spitting up blood with KISS, also has had a minor TV acting career. Most notably, he played drug dealer Newton Blade on "Miami Vice" and a mob boss named Donald Mann on "Third Watch." He was also a seal monster on "SpongeBob SquarePants" and he's played himself on "Ugly Betty" and "Family Guy." More recently, he has starred in his own reality series, alongside his long-time love, Shannon Tweed, and his kids.

It's A Mystery, M'Lord: P.D. James and Ruth Rendell became, respectively, Conservative and Labour life peers in the House of Lords, and as such, the two crime writers were able to watch each other across the aisle.
