Trivia Bits for Saturday, September 26

Orange Tabbies: Found on the comics page, what orange tabby cat shares his name with a "Wuthering Heights" character? That would be Heathcliff. You were probably thinking Garfield, who is also an orange tabby. George Gately's strip appeared first, in 1973, whereas Jim Davis developed Garfield in 1978. Whereas Heathcliff likes to cause havoc in the neighborhood, in single panels, Garfield sits around and eats lasagna, requiring several panels every day to do so.

Orderly Law: In 1992, Paul Sorvino left "Law & Order," on which he played Detective Phil Cerreta, so he could have more time to sing opera. Somehow, though, the show survived the loss of such a major character.

In fact, today, "Law & Order" sheds major characters fairly regularly, so much so that none of the original characters are still on the program, although Chris Noth did reprise his Mike Logan character on the "Criminal Intent" spin-off.
