Usually played on Christmas Day, the game ran from 1982 until 2000, when it lost its sponsor, Jeep Corporation, due to the merger with DaimlerChrysler. The game was often a double-header with the Oahu Bowl, which also collapsed in 2000, although for a couple years, the game soldiered on as the Seattle Bowl.

Winston's Kids on the Silver Screen: One of Winston Churchill's children had a minor acting career, getting nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1953 and, most notably, appearing as Anne Ashmond, the love interest for Fred Astaire in the 1951 film "Royal Wedding." By the time she died, she had become Sarah Millicent Hermione Tuchet-Jesson, Baroness Audley.

She was actually named for one of her ancestors, the first Duchess of Marlborough.
