Their 1965 album "We Dig Mancini" won the Best Vocal Group Performance Grammy, crushing such lesser competition as the Beatles, who had been nominated for "Help!" The album marked a shift away from the country music for Kerr, who would later work with the Smothers Brothers and Rod McKuen. The Venus de Milo is named for the Greek island of Milos, where it was found. The name of the island means "apple," and by an interesting coincidence, years later they found a marble fragment of a left hand holding an apple, which is thought to have belonged to the otherwise armless statue.
