Muscle misuse: Its "plural" look notwithstanding, the word "biceps" is a singular noun, derived from the Latin "bi" (two) and "ceps" (headed). Since dictionaries report word usage rather than decide upon it, the newest dictionaries include "bicep," we're sorry to say. Its entry in the current Random House Unabridged cites references going back about 50 years.
Another foreign title change: The first book in the kid-lit Curious George series, written by the German-born couple Margret and Hans Rey, debuted in 1941. When first published in the United Kingdom, the title monkey's name was changed to Zozo, because George VI was the reigning king at the time.
