In the years before, he had lost his first wife and all three of his kids, raising some serious succession issues. He was so keen to see his new bride that he rode off in the dark and was found the next morning. Alexander's granddaughter Margaret became the heir, but died before being crowned. If there were an Oscar for movie posters, John Alvin would have had them by the armload. His first poster was for the Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles," and he also worked with Brooks on his later films.
