Abbey Road is most famous as the Beatles' recording studio. It is named for a street that runs through St. John's Wood in London. The studio itself is at 3 Abbey Rd., and it was out in front of that studio that they shot the famous picture of them crossing the street. The studio itself was built in a Georgian-era home that was converted for use in 1928 by composer Edward Elgar.
