While Cameron Mathison's "All My Children" character, Ryan, is just trying to regain his memory, the actor would like to catch his breath. Mathison, who hosts SOAPNet's "I Wanna Be a Soap Star," has now signed on to host TLC's "Your Place or Mine?" It's slated to run Sundays on the cable channel.

Mathison explained the game in an interview. "I think it's a good show. First of all, the game itself is a fun trivia game, because it's geared toward family and there's a dynamic of risk and reward. And then it has this aspect of reality TV to it in the sense that we cut to the field (to show homes getting made over in real time).

"A series of right answers will get you a whole room — an entertainment center, couch, Surround Sound and speakers, a table, chair ... the whole deal. We go in, rip out your old stuff, and the crew then sets up this new room for you. And you see that happen on a giant screen. But then, if the other family wins a later round, they can either choose the room they were playing for, or they can steal the previously won room from the other family.

"There was this one horrible incident where one of the fathers did not listen to his wife, and she had the right answer. They had just won this awesome exercise room filled with better equipment than you get in a gym.
They had this momentum going, but on the next question, the wife said one answer and the husband turns to me and says something else. They lost their points, and the other family went on to steal the exercise room — which is all that the first wife wanted. This was not a good marital moment."

The actor is also hosting the Daytime Emmys on June 20 and a television awards show for InStyle Magazine. Whew.

Add Jimmy Kimmel, Barbara Walters and Tyra Banks to the list of Daytime Emmy award presenters (June 20, 8 pm/ET on ABC).

Kimmel will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Regis Philbin, who is marking more than 40 years in television.

The schedule of performers also includes numerous soap stars, such as "All My Children's" Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan, Jack Wagner of "Bold and the Beautiful" and Anthony Geary of "General Hospital."

Singer Katy Perry ("I Kissed a Girl") will be making her acting debut on "The Young and the Restless" on June 12. Katy plays herself, opposite Nicholas and Phyllis Newman (Joshua Morrow and Michelle Stafford), and Jack and Sharon Abbott (Peter Bergman and Sharon Case) at a photo shoot for the second cover of Restless Style magazine.

Pop music icon Cyndi Lauper shows her true colors on "As the World Turns" on July 3, where she'll play herself.
