What Will You Do When You See God? (Part 2 of 2)"When I see God, he'll make a rainbow for me," says Ally, 5. "He's gonna show me how to make one. He's gonna sit down in the grass and eat an apple with me." Ally's answer is more than cute. It could be insightful as well. Who knows the entire capabilities of a resurrected body or the assignments the Lord will give? We do know that Jesus suddenly appeared to his disciples in a room behind closed doors. He didn't bother to knock because he didn't open the door. Who's to say that Ally won't be the director of rainbow creations? As for eating an apple with God, we know that Jesus cooked and ate a fish breakfast with his disciples on the seashore after his resurrection. Why couldn't he eat an apple with Ally? "When I see God, I will hug him and let him pick me up, and he'll hug me back," says Kayla, 5. "We will all have the same germs in heaven, so I will kiss him on the cheek. I can even kiss Maw Maw who's up there." Kayla, you won't have to worry about germs in heaven because you'll have an indestructible body. Doctors will be unemployed. "I would say to God, 'You have a very nice house,'" says Preston, 7. Nice house? How about a kingdom so awe-inspiring that it can only be described as beyond anyone's wildest imagination? "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (I Corinthians 2:9). Do you have a vivid imagination? According to the Apostle Paul, we're all dullards. The most creative people can't imagine the goodies God has prepared for those who love him. If you marvel at the wonders of God's creation, stay tuned. The best is yet to come. "I will probably jump up and get so excited that I will run to God," says Amanda, 9.
When Amanda runs to God, she may hear Gerald, 7: "When I see God, I will scream so loud the whole Earth will hear me." "If I meet God, I will shout for joy. I will be so happy to see him," says Matthew, 9. "I will shout, sing, cry and laugh all at the same time." The joy of seeing God will evoke a total response. Sarah, 11, describes this as worship: "I will bow down and worship him, for he is my Lord God and Savior. He died on the cross a hard and painful death for me and for everyone else. I feel a real king needs to be worshipped by everyone, but sadly, not all people know about Jesus. That's why there are missionaries." Most people associate worship with a church building. Jesus told an inquisitive woman at a water well, "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). Valerie, 7, will worship God in spirit and in truth. She says, "I will bow down and say, 'I would give everything I have to see you because I love you, God.'" Think about this: The most freedom you will ever experience is when you are worshipping God with total abandonment. Memorize this truth: "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). Ask this question: Do you know the exhilaration of seeing God in worship?
