Tuesday, April 23In 1928, the first time the Oscars were ever awarded, Joseph Farnum took home an Oscar for Best Title Writing, for his work on "The Fair Co-ed" and "Laugh, Clown, Laugh." Titles, by the way, aren't opening credits. They are the "subtitles" you used to get in silent movies. The category only appeared that one time because, first, it's really lame, and second, with the spread of talkies, nobody needed titles anymore.
