Mars and Neptune are taking a survey: Would you rather be right or harmonious? Would you rather do something well, or be a genius at doing nothing? What is better to have: beautiful pain or painful beauty? As in all surveys taken by planets in conjunction, there are no correct answers, but you're better for having considered the questions.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). A loving partner is just what you need to ground you. Together you find solutions for today's strange and random problems. Laughter makes it all better, too. If single, a Taurus or Virgo friend is your anchor.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The people in your life may be thinking of you differently than you're thinking of them. The late Mitch Hedberg said, "I don't have a girlfriend. But I do know a woman who would be mad at me for saying that."

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your reasoning powers meet your memories this afternoon. You're so astute that you could finally figure out the minutiae of an event that occurred years ago. "Aha!"

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Energy comes from being in the hub of the action. Go where the inspiration is thick! You'll know you're getting something important out of the experience when your thoughts are so loud you can't hear your mouth.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The more interest you show in a person, the more interesting that person becomes. It may feel like you're still getting to know someone who's been in your life for years.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (March 25). You've sensed for some time that you could use more loveliness, grace and support from people, and it comes this year. Next month brings lessons that fall under the category of: How to Adore Yourself. Once learned, you set a new tone, and others naturally match the care that you generously give yourself. Libra and Gemini people are on your team. Lucky numbers are: 30, 6, 11, 25 and 53.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Feeling defensive? Pay attention. This is a valuable clue to help you unlock your psyche. You may be harboring hidden resentment. Being aware of it will help you release toxic stress.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Everything is fine except for the sneaking suspicion that you're becoming indistinct, melting into the tribal mind, becoming another face in the crowd. Time to set yourself apart once again. Shine!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It's been argued that this existence is a dream. If so, you're often dreaming within your dream lately — in the shower, in traffic, in line at the post office … and, of course, at night, which brings the most fantastic dreams of all.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Your wanderlust is paging you. Will you answer? Don't be surprised if following its lead causes you to cross borders that require a passport! Pisces is the perfect travel companion.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Take time for the small things, and the big ones handle themselves. Some of the habits that make you feel accomplished, enriched and stronger only take about five minutes — like reading or doing sit-ups.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You don't mind making sacrifices for those you love, and you'll be asked to do so — this is your opportunity to shine. Such gifts don't come every day, so step up in your altruistic Aquarian fashion.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Even though "coattails" went out of fashion two centuries ago, there are still those around you who want to ride on yours. Shake them off before they sap your energy!

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: Mars is all man. He's testosterone and beards and deep gruff voices hollering at boxing matches. So what's he doing hanging out with an ethereal muse like Neptune? Actually, Neptune has classically been associated with male characteristics — he was, after all, the Greek god of the sea, with a long white beard and pitchfork-like scepter, which all seems manly enough. But lately he's softened his ways and melted into the feminine side of life's balance. Thank goodness. We women have very few luminaries on the girly side of the zodiac, save the moon and Venus, of course. Many modern astrologers consider Neptune to be a higher "octave" of Venus, goddess of love and beauty. Neptune represents the powerful lightness of being — the dream of the planet, the collective unconscious and the balloon bouquet of buoyant thought. This week, Mars and Neptune are sharing space in the futuristic phantasmagoria of Aquarius, making this the perfect week to play with your internal opposites — like finding a spiritual ambition, fighting for peace, engaging in a silent primal scream or embarking on a journey to nowhere.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Reese Witherspoon is not only an A-list actress, but also a business force to be reckoned with. She was the executive producer of the mega-hit "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde." Aries people can wheel and deal with the best of 'em and drive a hard bargain, too. Look for more producing and acting combination projects from this mother of two in the coming year.
