FOR RELEASE: SUNDAY, MAY 27, 2012 When you look into the night sky at an object that is 100 light years away, you are essentially looking back in time because what you are seeing is how the object appeared 100 years ago. This same weird sense of time affects your life story. Mercury'…Read more. FOR RELEASE: SATURDAY, MAY 26, 2012 Generosity of spirit can be an intangible quality that people recognize on deeper levels, even if they would be hard-pressed to describe it in concrete terms. The Leo moon changes that, making something as invisible as love seem clear and obvious. …Read more. FOR RELEASE: FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2012 Mercury got a boost of zesty Gemini energy yesterday, which King Neptune, frankly, finds irritating. It could be that Neptune is just jealous of all that youthful vigor, or that Mercury has a tendency to talk "out of school." Either way, …Read more. FOR RELEASE: THURSDAY, MAY 24, 2012 Did things just get more interesting, or have they been interesting all along and we're only just now noticing it? These questions and more will seem relevant as Mercury slips into the quick, bright energy of Gemini, a brilliant placement for the …Read more.

The day has a split personality. Morning's Gemini lunar energy suggests there's much to know, do and talk about. There are logistics to sort, misunderstandings to hash and gossip to partake in or avoid — all so seemingly urgent. Later, the Cancer moon mellows. A nice meal and early to bed is the perfect set-up for tomorrow.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You're making a project up as you go. Your deviation from the norm makes things endlessly more complex — and so much more fun, too. Dare anyone to limit you by imposing a rule.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The only thing better than variety is greater variety. You're seduced into tangents, urged to try what you've never tried before and teased into giving up strict notions of how things should be.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). What did you do last year that really made you a better person? And what would you change if you could? The answers to these questions will help you spring forward, rather than drag your feet, into next month.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You'll feel like the parent, especially when people who are supposed to be your superiors act like angst-ridden, misunderstood teens. When they finally ask for your input, you provide earnest feedback.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You don't need an evocative setting or a winsome cast of characters around you in order to feel like a star. You're a star in your living room, in your cubicle, in the driver's seat of your car — you're a star everywhere you are.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 29). The buzz of anticipation hangs in the air as your dreams tingle with the possibility of becoming real. After a careful review in February, you'll find where you got off track. A correction brings improved results immediately. Love produces one fabulous treat after another this year, including travel. Scorpio and Cancer connections are divine. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 30, 25, 1 and 15.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your leadership role is front and center. However, you've forsaken your usual spreadsheets, checklists, project-management tools — you're running on gut instinct, which won't lead you astray.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Like a true air sign, you resign yourself to the influences of the wind. Not because you're weak, but because it's foolish to fight it. Hoist a sail and let it move you.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Destiny smiles on you as you make an effort to specialize. A friend, perhaps a fellow water sign (Cancer or Pisces) introduces you to good company.

You'll be embraced.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There's a wonderful chance to reconnect with someone you've been separated from for years. Let go of one opinion that keeps you from feeling at peace. It's never too late to forgive.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). The most powerful tool known to mankind is a deadline. Give yourself one — one with real consequences. There's a reason they don't call it an "it-would-be-nice-to-finish-around-this-time"-line.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Those who say it can't be done simply don't know your secret powers. Your charm is a potent force that, when wielded with a motive, can level any obstacle in its path.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). When you speak up, you surprise yourself! More than another opinion from the peanut gallery, you're a self-styled revolutionary force. So express yourself in the moment. Don't let your ideas swim in the sea of afterthoughts.

PERSONALITY OF A PLANET: THE SUN: OK, we all know the sun isn't a planet. But astrology gives it a starring role (pun intended) as king of the scene. Many cultures, like ancient Egyptians and American Pueblo Indians, considered the sun a god and found numerous ways to honor him, from blood sacrifices to olive branches, dances, art and magical prayers. I imagine him loving all the fuss, as he's always been an attention hog. In astrology, the sun represents individuality, ego and personality. And just as the people of different sun signs are attributed with different personality traits, the sun takes on the personality traits of the sign he is transiting. In other words, the way he interplays with the rest of the luminaries is colored by the personality attributes of the sign he's in. When he's in an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn), he's practical, stable and results-oriented. When he's in an air sign (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius), he's intellectual, sociable and scientific. When in a fire sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), he is the most at home — passionate and influential. And when he's in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces), he is spiritually dialed in and emotional.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter recently added "TV star" to his resume with his family-themed reality show "House of Carters." Fans were intrigued by this peek into his family life — he's a pop star with a big touch of sibling rivalry. Carter could bring an influx of heat to his career by tapping into his Aquarian philanthropic destiny. A large gift to a children's charity could do the trick.
