In Greek mythology there are nine goddesses known as the Muses. But under the full Leo moon, an endless number of muses are among us. One for everyone? Certainly one at the very least. Consider who your creative influences have been in the past. For many, this is a time of trading up to a more inspiring muse than you've known.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). The way you speak and listen conveys a great deal about you. Mercury supports you as you hone this skill set. Every conversation is an opportunity to develop your listening and vocal skills.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Diversity is necessary to do anything great now. Be daring. Work with people you don't understand. If what's important to you isn't important to your colleague, you'll make the perfect team.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your passion can't be bottled up. You spill your unreasonable heart to the person who tangles up your thoughts. Oh, well. Amore isn't logical. In fact, love kicks logic in the knees.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). What you choose to focus on, however small it is, snowballs quickly into a big deal. Facts turn into stories, which turn into theories, which turn into ideologies, which define nations. Choose carefully.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Every relationship requires maintenance — some just a phone call once a month; others, constant supervision. Tending to these particular requirements is fruitful work.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Feb. 1). Fascinating avenues of interest call you to explore. This month is a chance for higher education. Singles have no shortage of love interests in March. Couples renew promises. May brings property affairs into order. Conditions are excellent for promotion. Business projects take off in April. Lucky heart connections are Gemini and Cancer people. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You're in the process of conquering a certain fear. It's not going to occur overnight, but continue on your path until you have a record of successful experiences behind you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). It's when you're not paying attention that someone sneaks into your consciousness with an alarmingly beautiful dose of reality. An Aries person becomes the memory you can't erase.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Strangely, you feel more yourself with a certain someone than you do when you're by yourself. This relationship could become addictive. It's a good thing the feeling is mutual.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Improvements galore are featured, and the projects all seem to have one thing in common — your credit card. Cost estimates are high. Ask around. Friendly connections can hook you up with the best deals.

PERSONALITY OF A PLANET: THE MOON: She's not a planet, and at one-quarter the size of the Earth, she's not even that big. But the zodiac story would be sorely lacking without this leading lady. And actually, the earth wouldn't even be inhabitable without the stabilizing influence of our only natural satellite. So we owe a lot to mother moon. Shakespeare called her "the inconstant moon," and indeed she's like an actress who changes costume for each new role she plays. Whether a comedy or a tragedy, she's intent on evoking an emotional response in us. She is the ruler of emotions. If the sun represents who we think we are, the moon represents how we feel about that. When the moon is in a fire sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), she's a power player, aggressive and showy. When she's in an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), she lends emotional security. When she's in an air sign (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), she's sure to infuse us with bright notions. But she's most at home when she's in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) — when she encourages us to roll with our constantly changing feelings.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: The youthful exuberance of Aquarius is commonly displayed with optimistic thoughts, technological advancements and the sharing of new ideas. But Shakira seems to put her Aquarian-ness into her hips! Her unique blend of cultures, dances and musical styles makes her an electric performer and an interesting artist to watch. I see more successful producing and songwriting in her future.
