Horoscopes by Holiday for June 17The Aries moon and Gemini sun provide a jovial backdrop for some big events. With Neptune coming into a favorable position to the sun and then Jupiter following suit, the notable moments have to do with ideas taking form, unconscious desires becoming conscious and passive notions transforming into direct orders. It's an action-packed day. ARIES (March 21-April 19). The Dalai Lama says that, "Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions." You'll be giving in a special way that only you can today, and it's a joyful, rewarding feeling indeed. TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You want to believe that your hard work and energy will bring you dividends. You're right. Try to forget about that part now — it will only make you impatient. The reward is coming and you'll be happy when you get it. GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your idiosyncrasies are delightfully apparent. You are one of a kind and need to be around those intelligent kind of people who enjoy you because of your uniqueness, not despite it. CANCER (June 22-July 22). Your special interest needs attention. You can't ignore this part of you for much loner before you slip into an agitated mood. Delegate one of your responsibilities so that you can get back to an enjoyable pursuit. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). It's a day of extremes. One minute, you're passionately focused and the next, you are laughing and strolling along as though you hadn't a care in the world. This curious mix of feelings will be highly creative. TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JUNE 17). Mentors help you. You get the feedback you need to succeed. You will make incremental improvements that, by September, add up to a total transformation. Your social circle expands through the fall. Keep at a job until it's right, and you will be wonderfully compensated in December. Wedding bells ring in February. Libra and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 1, 4, 34, 17 and 14. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). A compromise will make things easier. You'll probably feel like you're making all of the concessions while the other person remains rigid, but if that's what it takes to make things work, you won't regret it. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). If you believe in something, then you don't need scientific proof that it exists. Furthermore, you don't care who else believes or disbelieves in the idea. If it's working for you, there's no reason to doubt it. SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your more mystical inclinations emerge. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You'll disagree with the commonly accepted version of reality. These explanations may very well be inaccurate. Your understanding of the world comes from inside you, not from what people tell you is true. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Work doesn't have to be a hard, harsh experience, and you certainly don't need to tire yourself out just to prove that you belong where you are. Do what needs doing and then relax. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You will be exploring a new path. Each of the characters you meet along the way will have something to teach you. Be inquisitive. Don't move on from conversations until you've received a gem of knowledge. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Sure, the people in your life appreciate you. But have they told you lately? You're in need of some direct acknowledgment and the first person to deliver will hold a special place in your heart. ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I'm a Capricorn pediatrician and I think I'm in love with a nurse in my practice. We have worked together for nearly a year. We are both single and have been nothing but extremely professional on the job. I'm worried about taking a chance and exploring this relationship and ruining a perfectly wonderful professional rapport in the process. The woman I'm talking about is a Cancer. What should I do?" Capricorns are more comfortable when they follow protocol and etiquette to the letter. And the more comfortable you are, the more confident and attractive you will be. If the rules at work prohibit romance between colleagues, honor that. If there is no restriction in your work policy, proceed indirectly to find out if this attraction is mutual. Casually hint around with one of this Cancer woman's friends that you might be interested. Ask if she is involved with anyone. There is great potential between Capricorn and Cancer if you approach the relationship with the utmost reservation and tact. Also note that Cancer is highly intuitive and she probably already senses your interest. Read the subtle signs she gives off to detect whether or not you should proceed. CELEBRITY PROFILES: Talk-show host Art Bell has shared his intrigue with the paranormal and opened a forum where callers can share their stories without being openly ridiculed. His radio shows are now considered classics. Bell's natal sun and Mercury are in Gemini, the sign of communication. Natal moon and Jupiter in Virgo reveal strong analytical ability and a down-to-earth, practical side.
