The Scorpio sun takes us on a journey to the center of our own soul. Self-discovery is not entirely selfish, though, since it helps us relate to others. As we learn more about who we are, we are better able to recognize what others are going through. Mercury forms a precarious angle to Jupiter, adding power to our words. Our fortunes depend on expressing the right sentiment, which may very well be one of neutrality.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Everyone experiences ups and downs, but this week you'll take it to the extreme. Your peaks dwell in the Himalayas, and your disappointments wallow beside the Dead Sea. It's your passion that makes you this way. Embrace it, and know that whatever you feel in a given moment will soon pass.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You own a treasure. Do you know which item it is? You don't realize its rarity. With a bit of investigation, you could find out the dollar worth. Or you could simply stay on the safe side by maintaining all of your possessions to a high degree, which includes insuring them and not selling them until the time is right.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're so good at keeping on the bright side that even private things like diary pages and inner dialogue are slanted heavily toward the sun. But is it all real? You're allowed your angst. You can't be totally happy unless you embrace the whole range of emotions. Give yourself permission to vent appropriately.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You may become slightly "bummed out" by the way things go in the early week, but you're likely to rise above the glitches and feel fantastic anyway. A few of you more intense Cancer people won't shift moods so easily. Remember that this hour, too, will pass, and when it does, you might even remember it fondly.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Yes, it's that time again. Book those potentially unpleasant appointments. Maybe it's time for the dentist or your annual physical. You're inclined to let these things slide lately, but you'll feel terrific about yourself when you take the steps to make sure that all aspects of you are running smoothly — body, mind and spirit.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You're sensitive. You realize that all matter has innate intelligence. That's why people with destructive tendencies will disturb you at a deep level, even if they are only messing up their own inanimate objects. All you experience will increase your awareness of your own physical and emotional imprint on the world.

LIBRA (Sept.

23-Oct. 23). You're naturally a gracious person, and you have this terrific way of remembering the things that are important to other people. Names, birthdays and random conversational details will be even easier for you to keep track of this week. Your thoughtfulness will be rewarded in an act of sweet reciprocity.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). The different facets of your personality are emerging, each with a strong identity. That's why you may catch yourself talking out loud to yourself. This is no cause for alarm. There is a universe inside you. As you honor your inner diversity, you are developing a power that will startle, amaze and influence people.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It is easy to get ensnared by those who promise to lift you from the mundane. If you are searching for a spiritual connection, you'll find something that feels very much like the thing you want. However, it's probably not. The real connection comes when you stop searching. Believe that you are already whole.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You are in for a truly magnificent week. That said, there is one pitfall to watch out for: Beware of the person who talks to you about being ripped off. Take it as a red flag. Don't do business together. You can bet you'll hear a similar story from this person later, and he or she may cast you in the role of the "thief."

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You do enjoy the research and development phase of a project. In fact, you are tempted to stay in that mode for as long as possible so that you don't have to get down to the business of presenting your take on things. Alas, by Wednesday it's time to stop gathering information and start creating some of your own.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). There's a bit of apprehension going into this unusual week. That's what happens when you're willing to put yourself in strange and uncharted territory for the sake of personal growth. You may flounder in waters of self-doubt, but you'll soon realize that what you thought was an ocean is actually only a swimming pool.

THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAYS: Suddenly your mental resistance to certain things you know are good for you will be lifted, and the path toward success and wellness, made smooth. In December, you'll take chances and communicate your heart's desire to powerful players. Your bravery will be rewarded. You display great strength and ability in April and, therefore, will be offered elite opportunities. There's a financial win in June. September brings important travel. Young people celebrate you in December.
