Horoscopes by Holiday - Week of 10/04/09

Uranus is the rebel of our little solar system, the rock 'n' roll revolutionary who loves a shake up and thrives amid changes, especially big ones. When Mercury the messenger opposes Uranus this week, people will feel inspired to talk openly about the changes they want to see in the world. Some of the conversation will be radical, and many won't agree. But we'll all be better off for having had the discussion.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Spending time with an air sign will be lucky for you. Those Gemini, Libra and Aquarius natives see the world very differently than you, and you have much to offer them, too. You will both be made aware of all sorts of interesting and enjoyable aspects to your lives that you would never have seen otherwise.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You'll be so busy that things like cleaning house or certain aspects of self-maintenance could fall through the cracks. If you get caught off guard before you've deemed yourself "presentable," don't worry. You carry yourself well and emit happiness wherever you go — more attractive than any amount of primping.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're probably afraid of making the wrong plan and wasting time and energy by going in a direction that will not yield the results you want. Well, you have to start somewhere. Sure, your time is precious, but you'll be learning, too, which is worth a lot. Just begin, and expect that you'll be changing this up along the way.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Staying up to date with what's going on in the world can make you feel simultaneously connected and sad. Learning makes you a part of things, and yet you don't always like what you find out. Protect your sensitive emotions by choosing your input carefully. Investigate areas that are likely to bring uplifting results.

But you also have the ability to devote hours upon hours alone in a dedicated and focused effort toward something you want. This is the mode you will often be in this week. You will only realize this when you have something urgent to express, or when you have terribly exciting news to share. Continue to push against the parameters of your comfort zone. Thursday or Friday will bring a personal breakthrough.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). This week is about keeping criticism in the proper perspective. If you're reading this, chances are you're a human being and, thus, by nature a fallible creature. If someone points this out to you, or if you point it out to yourself, it doesn't have to be a big deal. Expect that it will happen, and shrug it off when it does.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Your soul talks to you in many ways. When you are moved by an event or touched by beauty, that's your soul speaking up. His words don't ring true this week, though, as a job might become so boring that you'll consider taking up a vice just to get through it! Rest and recuperate.
