Horoscopes by Holiday for September 7

If you like Holiday Mathis, you might enjoy

Open your eyes to possibility! Jupiter, the planet of plenty, slowly moves forward after a summer break, and there are new options to consider. Mars and Mercury recognize opportunity, so buzz over to the big guy, creating crosstalk about the amount of energy or resources required to take action. Minds will be stretched in a good way!

ARIES (March 21-April 19). As you devote your energy to what seems like a minute task, you get the feeling that a higher cause is calling you. What's important is not the size of the task, but the love you bring to it.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Though you're probably not working now, you'll get insights into your job that will help you excel next week. Tonight brings the instantaneous fulfillment of a wish. It's like magic!

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're the sign of communication, so you almost never tire of bantering ideas about. Well, today you hit your threshold. Tired of talking, you want to see the material results as soon as possible.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You have something or someone spectacular on your mind. You may be feeling punch-drunk and dreamy as you glide through the morning. The evening inspires brooding one minute and giggling the next.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You're in the process of forgiving someone. It's not something you can say once and have it be done with. You're retraining your mind to think of an old situation in a new way.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (SEPTEMBER 7). This year you better understand yourself, your gifts and your life direction and purpose. The next seven weeks are prime to investigate, ask elders and probe for stories about your heritage. You'll be creating your own piece of history in October. Sagittarius and Scorpio adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 30, 14, 39 and 16.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You want to understand someone who is entirely different from you. You won't get any closer to the answer now, but it's fun to ask. Physical activities bring healthy release of the holiday stress.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Give yourself a present. This is actually a good way to bless your friends and family, as well. It makes you feel more generous in regards to the rest of the world when you're good to yourself.

SCORPIO (Oct.
24-Nov. 21). You're good with humanity at large. It's like you're working on a team, and your team includes people you don't even know. It's like the new people you meet are already on your side.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). The up-and-down moods of those around you will not necessarily have an effect on you. You are emotionally independent of others, even those with whom you are extremely close.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You may get off to a bumpy start today, but keep imagining that people mean to help you, even if it doesn't appear that way. By sundown you will be able to say you were compassionate and kind.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You have to force your will on the day, or the people you want to see and the things you want to do won't happen. It's as though the universe is provoking you to exert extra intention and excitement.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Today's battle cannot be won by aggression, force and opportunism. It's much easier than that. Your gentle wisdom is all that's necessary. Know what to ask for and it's given to you.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: Famed for fortune, liberation and expansion, Jupiter has typified plucky luck. Now psychologists say luck is a habit we can cultivate by being open to new experiences, trusting your gut instinct, expecting fortune and aiming to maximize the good from any situation. Since transiting Capricorn, Jupiter brings luck, but slowly. Pluto may be smaller than Jupiter in size, but its effects are far reaching. This dwarf planet links one personal destiny to the lives of many. The final months spent in Sagittarius wind up a 12-year visit to this sign before moving onto Capricorn. In Sagittarius, we collectively experience shadows of extremism, opportunism, blind belief and faith. Now we measure lessons learned against what's yet left to heal. Remember, the darkness we face allows the light to shine brighter.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Michelle Williams may be a super-achiever with an Academy Award nomination, but she still can be hard on herself. With the sun, moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn in Virgo, the Virgo tendency to magnify a perceived deficiency and make up for it by creating big success is pronounced. Williams will find her stride as a single mother this year, and perhaps even find new love.
