Horoscopes by Holiday for July 21

If you like Holiday Mathis, you might enjoy

The Pisces moon makes the tone of this day rather impressionable and dream-like. This astrological weather is perfect for totally losing yourself, giving your imagination over to a creative project, becoming absorbed in your feelings or just spacing out. Respite and relaxation comes easy, though it may be difficult to stay focused.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). There's a fascination with the tragedies that affect those at a distance. Recognizing sadness in the world makes you realize how lucky you are and shakes you out of self-imposed suffering.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Oscar Wilde said that if you're going to tell people the truth, you had better make them laugh or they will kill you. He was on to something. Stay mum on a certain subject until you know the best way to put things.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You created a situation and it's up to you to call it a problem or a blessing. To an increasing degree it will be whatever you call it. Make things simple by deciding one way to go and sticking with it.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). It's a day to correct your emotional posture. If you have been leaning toward something you want, stop leaning. Stand up straight inside yourself and gather your forces. Figure out where to go next, then march.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). A recent acquisition will give you an inordinate amount of satisfaction. It's nothing but pleasure to lavish your love and attention on this new "toy." Whatever price you paid, it was well worth it.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JULY 21). Opportunities are numerous this year, but the best part is that you recognize immediately the ones that meet your high standards. August is romantic. Your physical and mental strength makes you perfect for a coveted position in September. Make the most of the perks involved and the rewards heaped on you. Scorpio and Aquarius are your fans. Your lucky numbers are: 30, 15, 33, 38 and 19.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your imagination is strong. It would be a shame to not indulge in escapist fantasies where you can join magic worlds and interact with dazzling beings who accept you immediately as one of them.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You have power over something you believe you are helpless to control. A change in you makes everything change. Instead of thinking this over, believe it and act as if it were true. You'll amaze yourself.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You understand what others don't. That doesn't mean that it's your job to teach them, although if you're asked to do so, you probably will.
In general, you're more compassionate to the plight of your fellow humans.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It's a wild world and that's just the way you like it. You want the routine to be overturned, the card dealer to unexpectedly leave in the middle of your game and your own mind to keep surprising you.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You've been waiting for a few repairs to happen and now they will — not a moment too soon. Stay on top of it to make sure that you're getting what was promised to you.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Thank your stars that you're busy and haven't the time to investigate enticing and potentially treacherous paths. It's the idle people who easily fall prey to trouble.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). People test you before they let you get closer. Your initiation into a private group is not formal, but it's real. You pass, just by being yourself and taking the same actions you would take for anyone.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I am a Sagittarius woman who has been recently talking online with a Sagittarius man. Can this new relationship launch? Or, should I continue to seek out an Aquarius or Leo?"

Why choose, when astrology can help you explore your compatibility with each sun sign? For a double Sagittarius connection, conversation and verbal sparring launches you in exciting directions. This pairing undergoes sporadic changes that keep you interested. Though you're cut from the same cloth, it's a spontaneous pattern, so you never get bored. Aquarius possesses just the right amount of oddball quirk to spark hope in the heart of Sagittarius. Charming, fascinating and unusual are aphrodisiac adjectives for the more experimental centaur, and Aquarius delivers. Smart Aquarius validates Sagittarius' philosophical side by letting her know she's a-OK. Leo and Sagittarius jump into each other's arms. Then immediately proceed to test each other's faith, loyalty and honesty by having the other walk on hot coals. When exhausted by games, they fall into each other's arms and love awakens.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Cancer children are often shy and perceptive, which is why Hatty Jones appears charmingly old-fashioned against the modern backdrop of buzz. As Madeline in the movie version of the children's book, like bringing a bygone doll from a kid's classic to life, Hatty easily captured the kind thoughtfulness and manner of a girl of a different era. As a Cancer, she's just being herself.
