Horoscopes by Holiday for June 18

We're each at different stages of the journey. Today's full moon in Sagittarius shows us this, and the new experiences we encounter are right for our own of-the-moment revelations on how life is. Venus changes signs, moving into softie Cancer. For as different as we may be, when we live from the heart, love knows no boundaries.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You're categorically against getting handouts or leg-ups. Your method has always been to discover and use the powers inside you. There's something being offered to you anyhow. Take it and be thankful.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You're putting yourself in a position to experience the approval or disapproval of those you admire. So this is as good a time as any to recognize and reinforce that you are indeed equal to every person on earth.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're already hopeful. And what you learn over the next 24 hours serves to further open your mind to the possibilities. There are still miracles to work here, the likes of which you haven't even dreamed of.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Material things cannot make you happy. So you've heard. And yet you're thrilled and delighted now with the dizzying aroma of packaged newness. OK, so it's not a long-term high, but it sure is fun.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You are as fulfilled as you are diversified. Sandwich some friend time into the work day and stick little physical, cultural and spiritual activities into that snack as well. Ten-minute intervals brighten your schedule like magic.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JUNE 18). Jump in to this year's big challenges! Don't think too much or flinch. The prize goes to the one with the gusto, and that's you! This month brings a fascinating flirtation. July is your chance to daringly forward your professional aims. You're inventive and entrepreneurial in August. You make a proud purchase in November. Gemini and Aries adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 25, 41, 24 and 29.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). With a do-it-yourself mentality, you take charge of improving your life. Write down the plan and you'll get a better idea of your true priorities. A few tidy fixes and the whole picture looks sunnier.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Commune with the sky. Your balance returns when you let fresh air rejuvenate you. You don't have to go to the top of the mountain, the beach or the countryside to breathe it in. Your bedroom window will do just fine.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). People who call from out of the blue fill you with cheer and curiosity.
You wonder what they want. Presume innocence and have fun with the exchange. They do want something — to connect with you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You can be as deeply wise as a sage, or as frivolous as a silly child. Both of these opposite internal forces emerge to react to the day's events, with the same conclusion — laughter!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You take hold of your mood and direct it, which is the sign of true emotional discipline. You'll discover something to feel good, and then find another and another, so as to produce a state of continuous interest.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You are a philanthropist at heart. Generosity just feels right. And you're figuring out a new basis for your goals. It's not about what you want for yourself, but what you would like to share with others.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Sometimes we treat those we are comfortable with worse than strangers. Avoid tuning out during familiar conversation. Your extra thought and consideration keeps a relationship tight.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I'm a Cancer. Two years ago, I lost a close friend who happens to be at the same time a special person to me. I've never had a boyfriend and I'm about to turn 20 this coming July. Friends tease that I might become a spinster someday and I'm worried myself. There are a few guys who tried courting me, but I just can't let go of my sad past. What should I do?"

It takes courage to release a loved one to find their happiness without us. We can also make the mistake of thinking when a relationship ends, love exits, too. It's not true! Consider the purpose of love is to expand your heart, and your availability to love multiplies every time you open your heart. This year, Jupiter encourages all Cancers to ask for more from their relationships, and rewards those who ask for a little more than what they currently have and take a leap of faith with interpersonal growth, renewed confidence — if not an outright relationship. Ask for new love by sending your wish down a river with flower petals. Water and flowers are sacred to Venus, goddess of love. She'll hear you.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: For one of the most prolific singer/songwriters ever, to which planets does Paul McCartney owe his gift? With the sun, Saturn, Uranus and Mercury in Gemini, a storyteller's skill for spinning lyrics into music was stamped into his astrology DNA. But there's more. His moon, Pluto and Mars are in the sign of the entertainer, Leo. Paul not only loves performing, he needs it to feel all is right within him.
