What's the difference between responsibility and duty? According to Webster's, duty is the obligatory service or function that arises from one's position. Responsibility is our flat-out ability to respond. Today's meeting of Saturn and the sun brings us the ability and focus to meet life's obligations with flying colors.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Work, for you, is so much more than the ability to come up with a product. It's a creative process. You want to be included in all of today's decisions, even the seemingly inconsequential ones.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The stars empower you to be objective about your own behavior. When you change, your environment changes. Look for psychological trends. Recognize a pattern that's not working for you, and break it.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Mentally replaying a relationship conundrum can be food for thought. Or it can turn into a sanity-consuming monster. Leave the problem for now. Instead, focus on the fun energy you'll bring to an upcoming encounter.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). So what if you're a little fussy? It's to be expected as you cultivate a personal style specific to your taste and lifestyle — a work in progress that's soon to be spectacular.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). How do you know a fantastic moneymaking idea has surfaced? Your pulse quickens at the very thought of it. Move immediately on this one. An Aquarius person can connect you with the money people.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 21). By believing, you make it so. Your deeply held convictions are represented in your life in obvious ways through the next seven weeks. This gives you the opportunity to play your strengths and change what's not working. You find new ways to turn your talent into money in October. Wedding bells ring in May. Libra and Scorpio people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 39, 20, 10, 4 and 14.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Events confirm the importance of sticking together. Decide that leaving isn't an option. You'll gain greater trust in others and, ultimately, be so happy that you chose to see things through.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You don't need life to be any more sensational than it already is. Honest, straightforward information keeps you coming back to a certain source — possibly a Cancer or a Capricorn.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You're feeling and looking smart.
You swagger into the room and suddenly the good times roll in. No wonder everyone seems so happy to see you — especially a Leo.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Splurge on you. Don't worry about the potential negative financial impact. The negative emotional impact that comes from depriving yourself, now that's something to worry about.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Staying anchored and purposeful is a challenge. What pleasure are you seeking? Find a way to crystallize it in your mind to keep motivated. Physical symbols help.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). In light of the fact that you are already living all 24 of your allotted hours per day, if you add one more activity, hobby or relationship, then something's got to give. Capricorn can help you decide just what.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Your stars seem to be expert animation artists. People you were once irritated or even frightened by you now see as cartoons — silly and harmless.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "Can a chart indicate that a person will never marry? When my horoscope is in a period of "love," I do see and appreciate love with my family and friends, and a harmony with co-workers, even within myself. But intimacy and companionship have been missing for so long, it seems like they might not come along again. My birth date: 8/31/71."

Everyone deserves love, and no chart is exempt from marriage. You're ultra-sensitive to love's vibes because you were born with Lady Love Venus on your Virgo sun. People are attracted to your helpfulness, acceptance, generosity and beauty. But it's a two-sided coin. You embody loveliness, yet feel a lack of love so acutely that figuring out where to find it becomes your reason for living. When you feel neglected, you withhold love and by doing so lose a deeper emotional connection with others. Don't put conditions on love — it will only make you miserable. This eclipse season brings you lots of feedback on the health of your relationships and sets focus for Saturn's passage over your sun/Venus this November — your personal love lesson session!

CELEBRITY PROFILES: One-of-a-kind singer/songwriter Tori Amos is known for her rich, emotionally dramatic concerts. Leo's drama can feel like a force of nature — getting caught up in the artist's artistry makes for good theater. Lyrically, ambidextrous Amos' Mercury in Virgo weaves autobiographical and socio-cultural remnants into fantastically delicious Tori tales.
