Two Times the Info with Honeywell Dual Projection Weather StationNot sure whether you need an umbrella or sunglasses when you leave the house? Then you need the Honeywell Dual Projection Weather Station. The weather station gives you everyday information that is beamed directly to your wall or ceiling. The dual projection provides atomic time and weather information in two separate and adjustable infrared projections. In addition to the time and temperature, a weather forecast icon is also projected. "The new dual projection weather station is such a marvelous convenience for any consumer," said Jim Boyle, president of Hideki Electronics, marketers of the system under the Honeywell brand name. "Having the option to glance up at the time, outdoor temperature and 12-24 hour forecast icon so that you can be well-informed about your surrounding is a convenience that is reliable and comforting," Boyle said. The weather station embeds its technology in a flat touch keypad and LCD display. A weather graphic image display and temperature is relayed to the unit wirelessly from an indoor/outdoor long-range sensor. The information can then be projected for display. Weather forecast graphics include: sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, light rain, heavy rain, snow and unstable weather. Features include: — Image Adjustment: Sharpness and position can be adjusted easily by rotation, flip and focus control. — Light Detector: Lights up the LCD automatically to view clear information in the dark. — Continuous Projection: Slide the switch and the time will be projected continuously. — Wireless Transmission: No need to drill holes or run wires. — Indoor/Outdoor Temperature: Displays remote and base unit temperatures simultaneously. — Self-setting Clock: Precise time within a millionth of a second and guaranteed to automatically adjust to daylight savings time. — Dual Crescendo Alarm: You can set one alarm for weekdays and another for weekends. — Programmable Ice Warning Alarm: Rise early in case of the snowy or icy weather conditions. — Multilingual Display: Display in English, Spanish or French. — Backlight Activation and Snooze: Get an extra five minutes of rest. The PCR426 retails for $70. For more information, call 866-443-3543 or visit www.honeywellweatherstations.com. EMERGENCY ALERT For those wanting more out of a weather station, Honeywell offers the Emergency Alert Home Weather Station. "The Honeywell Emergency Alert Home Weather Station monitors every practical environmental condition so that all members of the household can make informed choices about activities, comfort and safety," said Boyle. The feature-rich personal weather station is the first to be offered with a built-in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) emergency alert system.
It is also a primary trigger for activating America's Emergency Alert System — making this unit a single source for comprehensive weather and emergency information, including natural (tornadoes, hurricanes) and man-made (missing children, chemical spills) events. It can be programmed to receive information targeted to a certain area with the Specific Area Message Encoder system and can sound an alarm to alert users of any approaching situation. The system offers up to eight wireless indoor and outdoor sensors to transmit indoor and outdoor temperatures, wind speed and direction, rainfall amounts, humidity levels and atmospheric pressure trends. The temperature meters, wind meter and rain collector each have ranges of up to 300 feet to wirelessly send data to the main unit. A maximum of five different channels that keep an eye on temperature and humidity can also be checked. "Temperatures can be monitored upstairs and downstairs, inside and or outside, in a baby nursery, wine cellar, in-law apartment, attic, garage ... anywhere," Boyle added. The main unit features a large, high-resolution, backlit LCD screen. Along with other data, the moon phase, sunrise and sunset times are also constantly displayed. Information is available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. The TN924W Honeywell Emergency Alert Home Weather Station retails for $250.
