Remove Mold and Mildew Smells from Fabrics and Washing Machines

Share Comment

First he attacked the washing machine, and now he is attacking what goes in it. Paul Flynn began with Smelly Washer Cleaner and has now added Smelly Towel Cleaner.

Hard to believe that a machine meant to keep you clean can harbor more fungi than any other place in the home. That appliance is your washing machine.

The problem: Fungus spores often collect on residue left behind from detergents and fabric softeners, resulting in a moldy, mildew smell that is transferred to fabrics. The solution: Smelly Washer, an inexpensive, nontoxic, environmentally friendly powder.

Smelly Washer not only cleans out your washer, but it can also be used to remove mildew odor from your clothing. The powder can be used for multiple cleanings to continually remove odors, not just cover them up.

Flynn, the inventor and president of Smelly Washer, is a veteran residential appliance repairman. For years, he noticed that almost every washer he worked on had a scummy buildup of fungus covering the inside. Bleach, washing machine cleaners and other home remedies just didn't work.

He recalled a cleaner he learned to make in the Navy from organic ingredients, came up with his own concoction, and Smelly Washer was born. Just one tablespoon of Smelly Washer powder added to a hot cycle can bring your washer back to a healthy state.

Washer done, Flynn moved on. Towels, clothes and other fabrics can often harbor a serious stench of mold, mildew and fungus that won't go away no matter how many times they get washed.

Remove odors from fabrics by adding just a half-teaspoon of Smelly Towel Cleaner with detergent as a booster.

Not only will Smelly Towel remove foul odors, but it can also enhance colors and keep towels and clothing looking like new.

The products are beneficial to your health as well as good for your clothes. Medical experts agree that many fungi and molds can cause serious health problems and should be kept away from sensitive people, the elderly and children. Both Smelly Washer and Smelly Towel Cleaners easily remove odor-causing fungus and mold buildup without using harsh chemicals.

Both products retail for $17 per 12-ounce bottle; they can last for up to one year. For more information, call 952-465-6444 or visit www.smellywasher.com.

FUN SCENT FACTS

According to research from the Sense of Smell Institute:

— The average human being is able to recognize approximately 10,000 different odors.

— No two people smell the same odor the same way.

— An individual's ability to detect odors changes from day to day, depending on their physiological condition.

— People recall smells with 65 percent accuracy after a year, while the visual recall of photos drops to about 50 percent after only three months.

— Your sense of smell is least acute in the morning and increases as the day wears on.

— Dogs have about 20 million olfactory receptors, 20 times what humans have.
