Landus (338-031)

Landus (338-031) has a covered front porch that extends the entire length of this 2,824-square-foot brick ranch home. A corrugated metal roof combines with a brick exterior to give this three-bedroom, two-and-a half-bathroom home a practical, sturdy presence. The columned, vaulted porch covering, with bay windows extending from window dormers on each side, gives added emphasis to the entry.

Inside the vaulted entry of the Landus, the bay-windowed office lies to the left just past the coat closet; it has two doors, one off the entry and one off the hall. Around the corner to the left is an elevator to the basement level, ideal for hauling bulky seasonal items. And a convenient half bath is placed near the entry.

From the garage entry to the home, a fully-equipped utility room contains a sink and ironing center, including drying rods, as well as a freezer. A door shuts this area off from the two bedrooms across the hall. Each bedroom has large walk-in closets, a private half bath and shares a bay-windowed tub area. Both rooms have sliding doors onto their own private covered decks.

On the right of the main entry are the bay-windowed living room, family room and dining areas.

The entire area is vaulted with sunlight pouring in from a dormer above. A centrally located kitchen offers the informal eating and conversation bar; it has convenient access from all areas on this side of the home. A corner walk-in pantry in the kitchen provides a large storage area for supplies.

Between the kitchen and dining area, a short hallway leads to the master suite. The luxurious owners' quarters stretch the entire depth of the home, dividing two large sleeping spaces with a walk-in closet (including a linen closet) and a master bath. Both front and rear areas have built-in entertainment cabinets. This area was designed to be used as individual sleeping areas or one area can be used as a sitting room. The master bath contains dual sinks, a shower and an oversized tub with a spa. As a personal touch for the couple, each sleeping area has a vanity.
