Jane Seymour Wants To Set the Record Straight About Angelina/Neil Patrick Harris' Emmy Prediction

If you like Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith, you might enjoy

Jane Seymour wants to set the record straight about Internet reports that have her criticizing Angelina Jolie for being too thin. "That was so unfair," says Seymour. "I never said that. It's upsetting."

What she did say was essentially that she wouldn't advise her fellow mother of twins to worry too much about losing baby fat at this time, says Jane, who has the Hallmark Channel movie "Dear Prudence" debuting Aug. 23. "I was doing the TV critics tour, and someone randomly asked me, 'Can you give Angelina advice about losing the baby fat?' But the question wasn't reported, and it looked quite different out of context," she says. Then the answer kept devolving on the Internet till it appeared she was chastising the "Wanted" star — which, she stresses, she simply would not do.

"Dear Prudence" has the former "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" and "Dancing With the Stars" star portraying a TV domestic diva who's sort of a cross between Martha Stewart, Heloise and Jessica ("Murder, She Wrote") Fletcher — with a taste for solving mysteries and a generous spoonful of Seymour's invention.

Jane also has an Open Heart jewelry line among her latest projects (www.kay.com), in honor of her late mother, who "always said, 'When life is tough, go out and do something for someone else, and live with an open heart.' If you live with an open heart, you can give and receive love, but if your heart is closed, you cannot process change."

ODDS ON: We reported earlier this week that "Two and a Half Men" Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Emmy nominee Jon Cryer, who's lost the award twice to "Entourage's" Jeremy Piven, doesn't expect to take home a statuette this year, either. He expects to lose to Piven again, "or I think this time to Neil Patrick Harris" of "How I Met Your Mother."

So what does Neil think of that? "Wow, that's pretty impressive, coming from another nominee," he says. "I suppose now I should turn around and say I expect him to win." Whom DOES Neil expect to win? He laughs. "Piven."

GIRL ON THE GO: Rising Disney Channel darling Selena Gomez wants us to know the second season of her popular "Wizards of Waverly Place" sitcom is going to be "even more amazing" than the first.
"We found our characters. We know what works. The show gets better and better. To be honest, there are times when I'm thinking, 'Please don't show any more of season one,'" she admits with a laugh.

The 16-year-old actress/pop singer barely had time to catch a breath throughout the spring and early summer. "As soon as we did season one, the writers strike happened. I went off and did a Warner Bros. movie called 'Another Cinderella Story,'" she says of the September-debuting modern-day take on the classic tale, in which she stars with Drew Seeley of the "High School Musical" soundtrack and touring company. Instead of a ball with waltzes, as in the original, she'll be seen doing dances from hip-hop to tango. "That's how I find my love interest. Instead of dropping a slipper, I drop a Zune," Selena says.

"After that, I did another movie, called 'Princess Protection Program'" — her forthcoming Disney Channel pic with pal Demi Lovato as a royal under wraps in suburban America. "And then after that, I did the Disney Channel Games," she notes, referring to the wild and wacky sports/challenge event now in its third year. With names including the Jonas Brothers, the DC Games will air in five installments beginning Sunday, July 27.

FLAMING FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The spacey, psychedelic American rock band The Flaming Lips have garnered much critical acclaim and a hardcore following that includes certain celebrity cognoscenti (Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, etc.) over the course of their 20-plus years. But the band never have reached a huge amount of commercial success. Lead singer Wayne Coyne — who is known for crowd surfing in a large clear plastic sphere — says he always has been much more interested in the music and the creative pursuit of it than how much fame and fortune he could acquire from it. "When you love what you do, you don't have to become famous or be the richest guy in the world," he notes. "Those are the qualities that would make you famous in the first place because you're the real deal. I think some groups start off like that and then become less authentic over time."

With reports by Stephanie DuBois and Emily Feimster.
