NOTE TO LYNDA HIRSCH Q&A EDITORS: THERE IS LANGUAGE IN THE 4TH GRAF THAT SOME READERS MAY FIND OFFENSIVE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION. -- CREATORS.COMQ: I had heard that there are several Internet soaps. Can you tell me about them and how I can find them? — Robyn, Medford, Ore. A: There are lots of web series to choose from. Many have soap stars attached to them in some way. They are all available on the Internet any time, day or night. Lauralee Bell's (ex-Chris, "Young and Restless") "Family Dinner" revolves around a dysfunctional family. Is there any other kind? The family sits at the dinner table and has lots of catty fights. Cloris Leachman has signed on to play the mother of Bell's character. Phyllis Diller had done the show for a few episodes. www.familydinneronline.com will get you there. "Gotham" stars "As the World Turns'" Martha Byrne (ex-Lily), Michael Park (Jack, "ATWT") and "Guiding Light's" Maeve Kinkead (Vanessa). Byrne, who put the show together, calls it "very traditional. My character, Catherine, and Michael's, Jack, are past lovers who reconnect. The story moves on from there." Expect a lot of romance, happiness and, of course, soap sadness. The launch date is Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. It will be carried on YouTube.Com and gothamtheseries.com. Eden Riegel's (Bianca, "All My Children) "Imaginary Bitches" has been around the longest. The show is written and produced by her real-life husband. The focus is on Riegel's character. All her friends have boyfriends; she does not. The character conjures two imaginary friends who say all the tart-tongued things she wishes she could. Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe, "Young and the Restless") is in the cast.
Crystal Chappell (Carly, "Days of Our Lives) is the force behind "Venice." The show is set in California's famed artist colony Venice Beach. Gina Tognoni (Kelly, "One Life to Life"), Hillary B. Smith (Nora, "One Life to Live") and Lesli Kay (Molly, "As the World Turns" and Felicia, "Bold and Beautiful") are cast mates. Chappell says the show centers on a multigenerational family. There is romance, conflicts, triumph and tragedy. Go to www.venicetheseries.com. "General Hospital's" Tristan Rogers (ex-Robert) is putting together "Reality Bytes." It has the ring of truth to it. The main character is a former actor who gets back into the acting game. Rogers promises lots of insight into the soap world. Ben Hogestyn, son of Drake (ex-John, "Days of Our Lives"), has been cast. Hogestyn played Lucas on "GH" for a while and had a short stint as Nick's pal on "Bold and Beautiful." No starts date for the show but lots of information at www.tristanrogers.com Two former "Guiding Light" stars have teamed up for their own Internet-based soap. Lawrence Saint-Victor (Remy) and Karla Mosley (Christina) play newlyweds who deal with real-life problems. Explains Mosley, "We play a couple who is deeply in love. A couple who has to work through the marriage issues everyone has to deal with." Find it at www.Saint-Victor.net or YouTube.com For these shows to survive, they need to pull in advertisers. The way to get advertisers is to get a lot of hits. So give them a try.
