LYNDA HIRSCH ON TELEVISION -- SUMMARY

DALLAS: Ann is arrested for shooting Harris. On the stand, Harris talks about Ann's poor performance as a mother. After Emma was born, Ann became depressed, started being a party girl and often left the child alone. Harris says he kidnapped his daughter to save her from his mother. Emma takes the stand and says she is glad she was abducted because she knows Ann was a terrible mother. When Ann is found guilty, Bobby promises they well work things out. Cliff tells Pamela she cannot allow her attraction to John Ross to ruin their plot to take over Ewing.

SNEAK PEEK: A murderous plot.

DOWNTON ABBEY: What a difference a year makes. The folks from Downton pay a visit to the Scottish Highlands to visit Rose's parents. Robert learns that the mansion has floundered due to mismanagement. Robert realizes if it had not been for Matthew's modernization of the Abbey, the family would have lost everything. Rose's parents are going to India for a government job. Not wanting to go to India, Rose prepares to move to Downton. Edna, a new hire for the staff, comes on to Branson. Mrs. Hughes, upset by Edna's actions, fires her. Mrs. Padmore learns the spice merchant who is courting her is a letch. Jimmy still wants nothing to do with Barrow. When Jimmy is being attacked by a group of men, Barrow steps in as Jimmy runs away. At the hospital, Jimmy apologizes to Barrow for running off. The two decide to be friends, never lovers. Edith and Michael continue their romance. Isobel is uneasy when Dr. Clarkson asks her to marry him. Ivy and Daisy have become best friends. Mary and Matthew are delighted when she gives birth to a baby boy. Driving home in his red convertible, Matthew does not notice an oncoming truck and is killed in the crash.

SNEAK PEEK: Season finale. Season four starts next year.

REVENGE: Daniel and Conrad help Victoria roll up Helen's body in a carpet. When Helen's driver continues to try to reach her, Victoria puts on Helen's coat and scarf, gets in the back of the limo and pretends to be Helen. Victoria plants Helen's scarf and a cellphone under Amanda's bed. At the Grayson's annual Labor Day party, Conrad announces he is running for governor. Jack and Amanda sail away on a Nantucket honeymoon. The newlyweds are horrified when they realize Nate is onboard. Amanda and Jack struggle to fight him off.

Nate shoots Jack and sets him adrift. Emily and Nolan are on a speedboat looking for Jack. Nolan goes on his own and finds a lifeless Jack in a dinghy. Amanda makes certain the boat overflows with water. When Nate lights a cigarette, a propane tank goes off on the boat. Nate dies in the explosion. Emily tries to rescue Amanda. Emily is heartbroken when Amanda dies. Trask, who worked with Helen, warns Victoria that Helen's death will not stop the Initiative. Padma convinces Nolan that she was spying on him to save the life of her kidnapped father.

SNEAK PEEK: Off until mid-March.

SCANDEL: It has been 10 months since Verna died, and all Fitz wants to do is drink and play with the baby. When Fitz does not keep Cyrus in the loop, he realizes Fitz knows about Defiance. Mellie admits to Fitz that she was in on the plan to rig the election, but she puts the blame on Cyrus. Fitz tells Mellie that he wants things to work out in their marriage. The minute he is alone with Olivia, the duo have a hot lovemaking session in a computer room. After they are done making love, Fitz tells her it will never happen again. Fitz takes charge when four Americans are held captive in the Mideast. The hostages claim to be on a mission of peace but in fact are American spies. When the Navy SEALs go in to rescue them, they are nowhere to found. When David finds a woman named Wendy stabbed to death in his bed, he panics. Wendy was a good-time girl who slept with high-ranking men and then sold the information she garnered during pillow talk to the tabloids. Huck moves Wendy's body to her place and makes it look as if she were murdered there. Davis is arrested for the murder and then released. David learns that Wendy was there to download classified information David has on a jump drive. Olivia and David decided to work together to find whom Wendy was working for. Capt. Jacob Ballard asks Olivia on a date. Olivia is unaware that Ballard has rigged her apartment so that he can watch her every move.

SNEAK PEEK: Cyrus confesses.

SMASH: With encouragement from Tom, Ivy auditions for a Broadway play and gets the lead. After many missed appointments, Derek finally hears Kyle and Jimmy's work and is impressed. Eileen hires a show doctor to rework "Bombshell." Eileen tells Julia if she does not want to work with Peter she can leave "Bombshell." Julia gives in. Peter and Julia have a contentious working relationship. Dropping out of "The Wiz," Ronnie wants Derek to produce a one-woman show for her.
