LYNDA HIRSCH ON SOAPS -- SUMMARY

ALL MY CHILDREN: David instructs Nurse Gayle to take Greenlee off the drugs that have been keeping her in a coma, as he feels she's getting strong enough to survive without them. David recounts to Gayle how he came upon Greenlee after the accident and vowed to save her, something he couldn't do for either Babe or Leo. Waking up, Greenlee asks for Ryan. David shocks Greenlee when he reveals she's been asleep for over a year and tells her Ryan believes she's dead. Kendall and Zach are thrilled to be back home with their boys. Zach suggests to Kendall that they pack up and take off with the boys for a while to give them a chance to regroup and heal as a family. Ryan, now realizing he's going to be facing a nasty custody battle with Annie, graciously gives Kendall his blessing to take Spike along with her for however long she and Zach are gone. Liza warns Ryan he could very well lose custody of Emma altogether if he goes up against Annie in court. Ryan plays right into Adam's and Annie's hands when they successfully goad him into fighting over Emma in court instead of agreeing to a joint custody arrangement. Adam and Annie have no doubt they'll triumph over Ryan since they have the judge in their pocket. Opal has a bad premonition concerning Emma. Ryan's blood boils when he's served with a court order demanding he take Emma over to Adam's so that she can be present when Adam and Annie renew their wedding vows.

SNEAK PEEK: Hayley comes home.

AS THE WORLD TURNS As the police arrive at Fairwinds, Meg flees with Eliza. When Paul hears, he assumes Emily tipped them off and berates her for it. Damian and Lily are horrified to learn Meg's on the loose. Alison finds them in a stairwell at the hospital. Dr. Wilson from Deerbrook is called, as Paul has suggested to Meg that she not put up a fight right now, just to lay low and be cool about things. Jack follows Craig and Carly to the rustic cabin, leaving his car on the side of the road. Carly doesn't want to stay with Craig, so she has left the cabin by the time Jack arrives. She finds his car, but also finds that it won't start. Jack and Carly stumble on an old copper bathtub and grow closer. Janet and Dusty make love to ring in the New Year. Dusty and Johnny share time together. Casey wants to marry Alison. He talks to Nancy about it and she gives him her engagement ring from her marriage to Chris. Casey tells her he's considering becoming a lawyer like his dad. Hunter protects Maddie in the dark after the lights go out at Worldwide.

SNEAK PEEK: Mick attacks Emily.

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL: Katie gets the uneasy feeling that Brooke and Donna have something to do with the quality of Eric's new designs. Katie later confronts her sisters, asking them what they think about the collection and, further, if a mutiny is in the works. Stephanie becomes suspicious about Sandy and Whip's interactions. Nick's suggestion for Sandy go to a rape treatment center isn't well received. Sandy is touched when Nick calls Lt. Baker and asks him to take a look at her case. Nick accompanies Sandy to the police station to meet with Baker about reopening her case. Frustrated from getting the run-around, Sandy demands that Baker give her answers now. In order to proceed with their plan to take over Forrester Creations, the group prepares to sell the new "Dare" line to Bill. Eric thinks that the only way that they can save the line is if Brooke and Donna model the dresses.

SNEAK PEEK: Steffy attacks Bill.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Vivian tells Victor that Carly had a baby years ago in a Swiss hospital. They contemplate who the father is and where the child is now. Bo receives a call and becomes alarmed. He reveals to Carly that one of his sources found out someone was asking questions at the Swiss hospital where she had her daughter. Panicked, Carly is sure it's Vivian, and becomes worried that Vivian will try to finish what Lawrence sought out to do — kill her daughter. Caught up in the emotion, Bo and Carly kiss just as Hope arrives to witness.

Hope tells Justin she's ready to move on from Bo and needs Justin to help her do it. Justin misunderstands and believes she shares his same feelings. However, Hope asks him to be her lawyer and serve Bo with separation papers. Justin admits he's in love with her. Stunned, Hope doesn't know how to respond, and Justin tells her that if she's still in love with Bo, she must fight for her marriage. Philip breaks the news to Stephanie that he's marrying Melanie. Phillip and Melanie's elopement plans are ruined when Phillip and Nathan became cellmates after they brawl. Gabi returns to Salem and tells Mia, Chad, Will, T and Kinsey that she's staying in town and will be going to Salem High with them. Mia is jealous of Gabi getting all the attention. Troy plots to kill Arianna. Daniel and Chloe share a romantic New Year's Eve.

SNEAK PEEK: Justin and Bo face off.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason tells Johnny the truth about what happened the night Claudia was killed. Jason panics when he can't find Sam. Sonny deliberately pushes Olivia's buttons when he notices she's jealous over seeing him flirting with Lisa. Maxie helps Lulu get ready for her date with Dominic. Patrick and Robin are blissfully content as they celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary. Lucky tries to reach out to Michael after he's pulled over for drunk driving but takes him home instead of arresting him. Sonny and Carly try to get through to Michael. A brooding Johnny tells Olivia he found out who killed Claudia but won't share the information with her because of her connection to Dominic. Elizabeth surprises Lucky by recreating the night they spent together over 10 years ago at Luke's old club, but this time, an empty Jake's serves as the venue. Lucky is touched when Elizabeth presents him with his old guitar and begins to sing to her just like old times. Kristina and Molly set Alexis up on a date with Mac. Mac and Alexis' car breaks down, but they enjoy themselves by dancing to the car's radio. Kiefer leaves Kristina in tears after he storms off when she doesn't want to make out with him. Maxie's determined to make amends with Spinelli.

SNEAK PEEK: Jason to the rescue.

ONE LIFE TO LIVE: Bo and Nora sense that John and Natalie are holding something back but agree to close the case on Mitch's stabbing. Gigi admits to Noelle that she thinks she wants to be with Schuyler and later invites him to spend New Year's Eve with her. Schuyler and Gigi make love. Kim's thrilled when Clint asks her to be his date at the Mayor's Ball. Bo and Nora's affair is revealed at the Mayor's Ball. Dorian acts on Mitch's orders and protects her family by publicly firing Bo. Blair reluctantly urges Todd to forgive Tea after he admits he still loves her. Blaming Todd for Ross' death, Danielle swipes Bo's gun with revenge on her mind. Danielle threatens to shoot Todd, but he and Blair manage to talk her down. Desperately wanting to reconcile with her daughter, Tea vows to Danielle that she'll break all ties with Todd. Kyle and Fish argue when Fish accuses Nick of purposely trying to come between them. Nick kisses Kyle. Kyle sees the light about Nick and races to find Fish. Kyle and Fish passionately ring in the New Year together. Langston can't stop thinking about Ford. Matthew tries to let Destiny down easy after she tells him she loves him. After a talk with Shaun, Destiny decides she'd rather have Matthew as a friend rather than not have him in her life at all.

SNEAK PEEK: Charlie comes clean.

YOUNG AND RESTLESS: Kay tells Jill that she will always be her daughter but that she has decided to find her biological daughter as well. Sharon and Adam exchange vows. After learning about their marriage, Nick lashes out physically at Adam, only to be stopped by Sharon and reminded that they are no longer together. Nick learns the Newman jet has hit a storm and goes out to find it. As Mac brings Billy home, he kisses her before passing out. Lily learns that she got an infection from a hangnail. Neil, Cane and Lily are stunned when Malcolm walks into Lily's room. Emily accepts Jack's proposal to marry him. Billy calls Jack and the brothers speak about having a better relationship in the upcoming year. Jack tells Billy about his engagement. On New Year's Eve, as the clock strikes midnight, Billy finds himself in an alternate reality of Genoa City. John appears to Billy and tells him that he will be his New Year's date tonight as they take a look into the future. Victoria and J.T. decide they need a break — Victoria will go away but leave Reed with J.T.
