Lynda Hirsch on Soaps -- Q&AQ: Is it true that a scene Michelle Stafford once did on "Young and Restless" had to be cut? — Angel, Port Huron, Ohio A: Yes. It was a scene between Stafford (Phyllis) and Peter Bergman (Jack). In the scene, the character was to get out of bed and bare her back. A body suit was being worn. Stafford decided it would be fun to face the camera. She covered all her strategic parts. The director decided that the scene would not play on daytime. So it did not. The scene was re-shot. Q: Since quitting "Days of Our Lives" earlier this year, has the actress who played Chelsea done any primetime work? — Emily, Richmond, Va. A: Rachel Melvin has landed a major role in the NBC hit "Heroes." The actress will play Anne, a roommate for Claire.
Q: Who is playing the piano for David on "All My Children?" — Ricki, Austin, Texas A: It is Vincent Irizarry, who plays David. The actor is a skilled pianist. In fact, he started in show business as a musician. When he first moved to New York, he lived at the YMCA. At the time, he told me, "The rent was cheap. More important, they had a piano. I played it day and night." To find out more about Lynda Hirsch, and read features by other Creators Syndicate writers and cartoonists, visit the Creators Syndicate web page at www.creators.com.
