LYNDA HIRSCH ON SOAPS GOSSIP

Cancel one coast-to-coast moving van. Earlier this week, "All My Children's" Aiden Turner (Aidan Devane) was called into the office of the show's executive producer, Julie Hanan Carruthers.

He thought she was going to ask him about his moving arrangements. Turner forgot that producers do not call you into the office for a "how ya doin'" chat. In fact, he was told in the meeting that his character was being written off.

Turner, who joined the show in 2001, was stunned. During his tenure on the show, Turner was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Daytime Emmy. The Aussie actor often topped the "sexiest men in daytime" lists. His character was never really put to good use.

Justin Deas, last seen on daytime as Buzz on the "Guiding Light," once said, "If your character does not have a home, chances are he will not have a story, either."

Deas said this in reference to his role of Bucky Carter on "Ryan's Hope." Turner had neither of late. Even his job was gone when his partner, Tad, got out of the private investigator business.

Last year, in a "how creepy is this" plot, the character of Aiden thought his wife Greenlee was having an affair. To see if she was sleeping with Ryan, he gave his bride a beautiful set of earrings. Embedding in the earrings was a tiny camera. Yuck. Now all he wants to do is get even with Annie for telling him to get lost.

According to an official statement, Turner's departure is storyline dictated: "Given AMC's upcoming move to the West Coast, we wanted to give Mr. Turner advance notice so he could plan accordingly.

Mr. Turner is a talented actor, and we wish him well."

Please let the storyline-dictated scenario be connected to a wrap-up of the who-killed-Stuart murder. This story has gone on so long no one even cares who killed the nicest character in daytime. Turner's last airdate is Nov. 6.

Gina Tognoni (formerly Dinah Marler on "Guiding Light") is going home to "One Life to Live" early next year in the role of Kelly Cramer, which she created in 1995. Tognoni left the show in 2001. Her six-year stint on GL won her two Best Supporting Actress Emmys.

"I am excited to welcome the extremely talented Gina Tognoni back to the role that launched her daytime career," "One Life to Live's" executive producer, Frank Valentini, shared in a statement. "The role of Kelly is an important part of OLTL's history, and Gina's portrayal as a member of the spirited Cramer family has always been a fan favorite. She is a friend, and I am thrilled to be working with her once again."

"One Life to Live's" Dorian Lord will do anything to best her rival, Viki — even marry a woman. Dorian thinks the only way she can beat Viki in the mayoral race is to get the town's gay vote. On shows airing Oct. 29 and Nov. 2, Dorian will wed her black female campaign manager.

Dorian, wanting to get as much publicity as she can, decides to wed in an en masse marriage ceremony. Twenty other couples, including Kyle and Nick, will say, "I do."

Officer Oliver Fish is sent to the wedding site to keep the peace. Fish has come out to several friends and his parents in the past month. Most in Llanview do not know he is gay. When a group of protestors get nasty, Fish decides to reveal he is gay.
