Time of Transition for Newly Engaged Tamera Mowry/Jonas Brothers Fame Effect Hits 'Camp Rock' Newcomer

What a time of transition for Tamera Mowry, who is now reportedly planning to wed her longtime beau, Fox News correspondent Adam Housley, after he proposed in Italy the other day.

This year has also seen the "Sister, Sister" star find a new professional life and love — behind the cameras. "I'm a very creative person, and to take an idea and bring it full circle to fruition — this whole process, this is what I want to do. This is what I'm going to do. One of these days, it will be feature films," she told us before setting off on her Italian holiday.

She also said, "This is the happiest I've ever been in my life." No wonder! The actress, who co-produced and top-lined Lifetime's recent "Double Wedding" movie with twin sister, Tia, has other producing projects in development. Her and Tia's "Tia and Tamera, Take 2" Style Network special of earlier this month may become an ongoing reality show as well.

She revealed that she's not only hot to do more producing work, she's also been making moves toward directing.

"I have to say, at first, I didn't think I would. But our friend Alfonso Ribeiro, who's been a director for 10 years — he really, really took me through every step of the process," she said, speaking of the former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" co-star. "I started to tap into it a little on 'Sister, Sister,' but didn't realize I was doing it. I'd be more the kind who would whisper into the director's ear. I do not like confrontation."

Still, "The hardest part for me is to have different hats. When I'm a producer, I'm very right-brain analytical, and when I'm acting, well, you're supposed to be left brain — just do, don't think, be present in the moment."

FAME GAME: What an introduction to the world of the Jonas Brothers! Singer-actor-dancer Matthew "Mdot" Finley, who plays the chief adversary of the Jonases in the Disney Channel's Sept. 3-debuting "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam." He'll be out on a concert tour with the JoBros, Demi Lovato and other members of the "Camp Rock 2" cast starting Aug. 7.

All that's gone out on this so far is a video, movie clips, promos and some interviews.

And yet, Finley has already found himself swarmed by fans. It happened this week, in fact, when he and Alyson Stoner were in Paramus, New Jersey, doing promotional duty for Verizon FIOS, which has a movie tie-in.

"People are already like, 'I love your video! My grandma loves your dance moves!' We were on the elevator, and there were people waiting for us at every level when the doors opened," he says, amazed.

How does he feel about that? "It's what I signed up for, what I want to do — be a superstar," says the handsome young performer.

He says he's learned from the best how to interact. "I've been in cars with the Jonas Brothers, and they're very down to earth. They'll stop the car and hop out to say hi to the fans that've been waiting for hours before they go into their hotel. They really believe in showing fans their appreciation. They love the fans. Demi does as well."

With the tour right around the corner, Finley is psyched to jump in all the way. It took him five auditions to land the role of egocentric Lucas Williams, the leader of the teen performers at rival Camp Star.

"I've been preparing for this role my whole life," he says. As far as whether Lucas will end up being the guy viewers love to hate, he laughs. "I think so. He's all about the performance, not about making friends. He's all about the presentation. I can definitely relate to that. But I'm a little more polite, a little more people friendly."

REALITY ROLES: It's a safe bet there will be ladies lining up trying to land parts in this one: an untitled reality series about six beautiful women who go undercover to stop nasty treatment of animals.

Kind of a furry answer to "Charlie's Angels," it's being described as a dramatic, reality-based program. The women cast as "agents" must be willing to go undercover to get the bad people who are being mean to those poor, innocent beasties. The strong, intelligent gals will be a multiethnic crew — Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian and African-American women are being interviewed for the show. Must be beautiful and willing to go extra miles to help animals.

Meanwhile, egocentric and narcissistic folks with recognizable faces may be interested to know that there's a reality TV show in the works called "The Dermatology Drama," to take place in a Beverly Hills dermatology office. All services including laser hair removal will be free to the on-camera talent. And you thought "Real Housewives of New Jersey" was bad.
