Lisa Rinna, Harry Hamlin Anxiously Await Word on Season 2 of 'Harry Loves Lisa'

Share Comment

Lisa Rinna and husband Harry Hamlin are anxiously awaiting word on the future of their "Harry Loves Lisa" reality show. Will TV Land give it a Season 2? "I don't know! I don't know!" she responds. "We only finished shooting the first season a couple of weeks ago. The big finale episode is Nov. 10, and I hope millions and millions of people watch it.

"We've so enjoyed doing the show, and people have really responded to it," adds the feisty actress/boutique owner/Hollywood denizen/author. "There's nothing nasty about it. We don't call each other ... horrible things like they do on so many other shows these days. There's so much value in it. It's really vulnerable television."

That's vulnerable as in the finale, which takes Rinna through her much-talked-about lip reduction surgery, reversing the effects of cosmetic tampering that began with collagen injections in 1988. "There was a lot involved. We have two young girls and we think about, 'What message are we sending out here?' We really let people in on it, something I never expected to do," she says.

Yet one thing she and Hamlin had in mind was showing the reality behind the celebrity life, and without doubt, correcting cosmetic work that's gone awry falls into that category. "We take the curtain back and demystify it," as she puts it.

There is no mystery about how hard the Hamlins work. Besides their show, they've been on his 'n' hers book tours, for their "Starlit" and "Full Frontal Nudity: The Making of an Accidental Actor" tomes, respectively. And they've continued to oversee their Belle Gray clothing boutique in Sherman Oaks, Calif. In the news recently for being robbed, Belle Gray is now back to normal, says Rinna.

"You'd never know anything had happened, though we lost $25,000 worth of stuff. We got it all back in business, I'll tell you, because it certainly boosted our Web business."

DESIGNING WOMAN: "Project Runway" winner Gretchen Jones has been having quite the high-flying time since her announcement as winner of the eighth season of the Lifetime show last week. First on her agenda was attending several parties near her Oregon home base, then flying to New York in time to be on hand at Heidi Klum's elaborate annual Halloween shindig. (Jones' costume: Amelia Earhart, appropriately enough.)

Jones, who took on a bit of the villainous role in this latest season, with her sharp tongue and controlling ways, won in an upset over Mondo Guerra.

"If I had it my way, we would all win. But all those people are going to have careers," she says of the finalists. She also says, "I'm proud of myself."

As for what is next? She's focused on making a permanent move to the Big Apple by early 2011, "to gain access to the resources and mentorships I need in order to be successful. I also feel like it's really important to be thoughtful and take my time," adds the budding designer. "There's a responsibility with the exposure I'm getting, and I want to be diligent and thoughtful."

She's thinking it through now, and creating a business plan. "Once you do your first collection, you go straight into the next one," she points out.

So Jones is taking a little time to get rested and ready with a year-end vacation. "We were fortunate enough to get those trips by the Hilton in 'Finale Part 1,'" she reminds. "My birthday is New Year's Eve, and I want to go somewhere warm and sandy for my birthday." Yep, and the $100,000 in prize money won't hurt.

THE INDUSTRY EYE: With Drew Barrymore and Leonard Goldberg both on as executive producers for Sony TV's planned "Charlie's Angels" series reboot, it'll be interesting to see whether Robert Wagner gets a piece of the action. Seasoned Hollywoodites will recall several major legal battles over the profit participation Wagner and late wife Natalie Wood had in the original "Charlie's Angels" series. The latest, Wagner's effort toward getting a share of the big-screen "Charlie's Angels" profits, was resolved in 2007 with the court deciding that the movies weren't part of the contracted ancillary rights split and denying Wagner any recovery from Columbia. Now that they're talking series again, does the same hold true? You'd better believe those with a vested interest have given the matter deep, deep thought.

Meanwhile, the new "Charlie's Angels" are being assembled, and this time around, they're a multi-cultural trio: African-American Kate, Hispanic Marisa, and Caucasian Abby. All are in their 20s and beautiful, of course.

Speaking of beautiful women, casting is under way for a docu-reality series about professional cheerleaders, focusing on Raiderettes and Chargers cheerleaders, their personal and professional lives. The stunning part is that nobody jumped on the idea of a cheerleader reality show before.

Casting is also under way for an "Animal House" parody. How do you do an "Animal House" parody?
