Carnie Wilson Says She's Ready To Waddle Up The Red Carpet/Swedish Supermodel Victoria Silvstedt Talks SocialismCarnie Wilson is expecting her second child next month, but that isn't keeping her from planning to attend the Game Show Awards, taping tomorrow (3/16), for airing on the Game Show Network June 6. She just might pick up a Favorite Dating or Relationship Show prize on behalf of her "The Newlywed Game." "I'll be waddling down the red carpet with my pregnancy belly … They're sitting me in the front row," cheerfully reports Carnie. Her dress, she says, "is a little bit Audrey Hepburn, with a beautiful collar around the neck, a shawl-cami type of thing and a big black ribbon. And I have genius platinum leather slingback pumps that look glamorous even though the heels are just 1 1/4 inch." If her well-received new "Newlywed Game" wins, "It will be my first solo type of award," notes the bubbly personality, who scored six top 20 singles as a third of the '90s pop trio WilsonPhillips. Meanwhile, the 41-year-old, whose obesity battles famously included gastric bypass surgery in 1999, is already the mother of 4-year-old Lola — and says she can't wait to have little sister Luciana. "I've kept on a pretty restricted diet for the last few months to make sure the weight gain doesn't get out of control and the blood pressure doesn't go up like last time," she says. "I'm keeping a food journal, but it's hard. I was just at a wedding, and you know, there's a bite of this, a bite of that, and if I don't write it down, I'm screwed." Chatting by phone from her nursery, she notes, "I've been sitting on the glider, talking to Lucy. It won't be long now 'til I have her in my arms. I'm getting tired, and last night I said to my husband, 'I feel so … so … so — and I started crying like crazy. I think the dose of reality hit last night — what it's going to be like having a little tiny newborn along with a 4-year-old." ORDINARY PEOPLE: Swedish supermodel Victoria Silvstedt has let the world get a peek into her glamorous lifestyle on her E! reality show "Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life," but while she has become a star all over the world, she says her home country keeps her humble. "Most of them think the success I've gotten is great, but in Sweden, they have to be all equal. It's very socialistic," she notes. "If you stand out a little bit, there is always somebody who wants to knock you down. In the press sometimes they like to try and say, 'Oh, scandal this, scandal that.' I try not to take any of it personally, though.
All of Silvstedt's other fans are enjoying seeing her jet set around the world from exclusive parties to magazine shoots to red carpets. However, she's the first to admit her life isn't entirely perfect. "It is a fabulous life with the parties, the great work that I do and the invites, but it's not perfect yet. Perfect is not only the glamorous life. The only thing I'm missing is the normalcy in my life and having one home. Having children and starting a family is kind of out the window for the moment, so that's the part that I'm missing," she tells us. "Yes, my life looks good on the outside, but it's not complete. I would love to settle down sooner than later, but you've got to be in one place more than a week for that to happen. I don't want to be 40 for my first kid, but I'm 34 now, so I've got some time. We'll see what happens." ON THE PERSONAL SIDE: Tracey Ullman tells us she'd like to work more, but for now she's content being a mother and doing her TV show, "State of the Union." "I've started writing some more, but I've just been doing these shows really," Ullman says of her Showtime series. "My son is in school here, so I don't want to do anything that takes me away. I guess when he goes to college I can do other stuff. This is enough for me to do, quite honestly," she adds. "If I ever get offered a nice part in a film, then that'd be great, but they are few and far between. Only Meryl Streep is working in her 50s. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there." MUSICALLY SPEAKING: Normally, you have a band looking for a recording date, but until recently, forces behind a project called The Ultimate Male Pop Group had a recording date — June 5 — without a band. They've been looking to round out the final two members of a boy band that will get its debut album recorded next month, go on a national promotion tour this summer and have their first single out by early fall. Things are moving so fast, it's likely those slots will be filled by the time you read this, so once again, don't call us. On the other hand, maybe there will still be openings in an international pop band tour being put together by producer Nathan Murphy, with rehearsals planned to begin asap. If all goes as is hoped, they'll be performing in Southern India by the end of August. And a big group it will be, since casting forces have been seeing male and female singers and a variety of musicians for the tour. The set list is to be decidedly retro, with tunes ranging from "Mack the Knife" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" to "Jailhouse Rock" and "You Can't Hurry Love." There should be a reality show in this somewhere. With reports by Emily Feimster.
