DEAR STACY: Lorraine Nicholson is lovely. What is she up to next? And what is Jack Nicholson doing lately? — Candy W., Queens, N.Y.

DEAR CANDY: The 20-year-old actress daughter of Jack Nicholson and Rebecca Broussard is in the 2011 film "Soul Surfer," with AnnaSophia Robb, Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt. It's the amazing story of champion teen surfer Bethany Hamilton (Robb), who came back from a shark attack in which she lost an arm. Jack is soon to begin work on James L. Brooks' "How Do You Know?" romantic comedy with Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd.

DEAR STACY: I heard that Mariska Hargitay is married to an actor on "Law & Order: SVU." Is that so, and if so, whom? — Pauline P., Los Angeles

DEAR PAULINE: You are referring to Peter Hermann, who's been featured on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" in the recurring role of defense attorney Trevor Langan since 2002. The German-American actor and writer was born in New York, raised in Germany until the age of 14, then returned to the States and lived in Connecticut. He's a Yale grad who speaks Spanish and French in addition to German and English. His other credits include a 1997-1998 stint on "Guiding Light" and his portrayal of Jeremy Glick in "United 93" about the 9/11 flight that crashed in Pennsylvania as passengers fought to take control of the plane away from terrorists.

Hargitay and Hermann have one son, August, who is 4 years old.

DEAR STACY: What does T.R. stand for in T.R. Knight, and what is he doing nowadays? — Kayla S., San Jose, Calif.

DEAR KAYLA: Theodore Raymond is the former "Grey's Anatomy" star's full name. If all is going as planned, the 37-year-old actor is in preview performances of his and Patrick Stewart's Broadway revival of the 1977 David Mamet play "A Life in the Theatre," about a young actor who begins to overshadow his mentor. Opening night is set for Oct. 12, and the run is scheduled through January.

DEAR STACY: Why hasn't Jay Leno ever hosted the Oscars? We think he'd be the best ever. — Grace and Steve S., Cleveland

DEAR STEVE: Leno has turned down the Academy Awards emceeing gig several times, believing that it would simply be too demanding to spend weeks preparing for the big night — which is typical of Oscar hosts — while doing "The Tonight Show."
