Ask Stacy - Week of October 2, 2010DEAR STACY: Please tell me something about Lucas Neff, who plays the young dad on "Raising Hope." Married? Background? He's adorable! — Gloria P., Reseda, Calif. DEAR GLORIA: The 24-year-old actor, who won the role of hapless Jimmy Chance over some 500 hopefuls in a casting search, hails from Chicago where his mother, Meade Palidofsky, founded Storycatchers Theatre; and his father, Alan Neff, is a lawyer and novelist. Lucas told Chicago Now that he planned to study film, hoping to become a cinematographer, but instead, through a processing error, he found himself enrolled into the performing arts program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His mom thought it was a sign that he should give acting a try and he quickly fell in love with the craft. After graduating in 2008, he appeared in several stage productions, but he was definitely doing the struggling actor routine — literally cleaning toilets as part of a housecleaning job — when fate and "Raising Hope" whisked him away. He is not married, but is in a relationship with Chicago actress Kelly O'Sullivan. DEAR STACY: Seeing the "Memories" Weezer video with the "Jackass" guys, I started to wonder when or if there will be another "Jackass" movie.
DEAR M.M.: "Jackass 3D" is set to debut in theaters Oct. 15. DEAR STACY: I really like "Rizzoli and Isles." I also enjoyed Sasha Alexander on "NCIS." Can you tell why she was killed off that show? It was a real shocker. — Terry M., Clearwater, Fla. DEAR TERRY: Producer Don Bellisario has said that Alexander came to him and asked to be released from her contract because she felt completely worn out by the series' grueling hours. He decided on how her departure would be made and opted for the "most impactful." DEAR STACY: What's next for the always superb John Lithgow? I was delighted to see that he won an Emmy for playing the Trinity Killer on "Dexter." Great job! — Nick F., Minneapolis DEAR NICK: Lithgow is due to join Meg Ryan, Kat Dennings and 50 Cent this month, shooting "Lives of Saints," a multiple story line feature described as being about "a disparate group of Angelenos who cross paths on the rocky road to redemption."
