Ask Stacy -- Week of November 12DEAR STACY: I watched the 2004 movie "Ray" recently and was not only blown away by Jamie Foxx's amazing performance as Ray Charles, but I also liked Kerry Washington, who played Ray's wife. Can you tell me where else we can see her and whether she's related to Denzel Washington? — Tracy S., Orlando, Fla. DEAR TRACY: The 34-year-old actress has a mid-season ABC show coming up, "Scandal," a political drama in which she'll play a former media relations consultant to the president of the United States. It's from "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes. Washington is also remembered for playing the wife of Idi Amin (Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker) in "The Last King of Scotland" and as Alicia Masters in the "Fantastic Four" movies. Washington — no relation to Denzel — was born in the Bronx. She graduated from the prestigious Spence School (also known as Gwyneth Paltrow's high school) and then went on to pursue acting at George Washington University, from which she graduated in 1998. After a few small movie roles, she began to climb the Hollywood ladder with parts in "Save the Last Dance" and "Against the Ropes." DEAR STACY: I wonder about this every time I see the "created by" credit for Christopher Lloyd on "Modern Family." Is this the "Back to the Future" and "Taxi" star? — Jon M., Whitefish Bay, Wis. DEAR JON: No.
DEAR STACY: Is there any truth to what one of my relatives says — that Ronald Reagan once had a Las Vegas act? He says Reagan performed onstage with chimpanzees. I'm not sure whether he was putting me on. — Margie D., El Paso, Texas DEAR MARGIE: The late President did try his luck onstage in Vegas in 1954 with a chimpanzee act that was a spin-off of his movie, "Bedtime for Bonzo." He hammed it up with the chimps, told stories, and danced with a group called the Continentals. Though the show bombed, Reagan enjoyed visiting Vegas and was reportedly pals with all the original Rat Pack. DEAR STACY: Who is the longest-running game show host currently on the air? I'm betting it's Pat Sajak. A coworker thinks it's Alex Trebek. — Paul K., Canton, Ohio DEAR PAUL: You win. Sajak is the longest-running host of a major current TV game show. He took over the "Wheel of Fortune" daytime version from Chuck Woolery in 1981. Alex Trebek began the current incarnation of "Jeopardy" in '84. However, the champ remains Bob Barker, who ended his run on "The Price Is Right" at a record 35 seasons — 6,500-plus shows — and before that, he did "Truth or Consequences" from 1956 to 1975.
