Ask Stacy - Week of July 24, 2010DEAR STACY: Who's the girl in the State Farm commercial -- the girl from 4e? -- Christian, Bridgeport, Conn.
DEAR CHRISTIAN: The 5-foot-8 brown-haired, brown-eyed beauty seen as "the girl from 4e" in those spots is L.A.-born actress Holly Lynch. She's done films including "Fired Up," TV episodics like "Rules of Engagement," "Entourage" and "CSI: NY" -- plus John Mayer's famous "Your Body is a Wonderland" video, and videos for Moth and Harland Williams. Lynch's beauty set her up for a successful modeling career that took her to shoots in Europe and Asia before she moved into acting. DEAR STACY: What is Debra Winger up to lately? -- Polly S., Ithaca, N.Y. DEAR POLLY: The strong and strong-willed actress -- whose career has certainly seen its ups, downs, ins and outs -- is playing a washed-up actress in therapy on "In Treatment." Season 3 of that HBO series is expected to start airing in October. DEAR STACY: Whatever became of actor Richard Biggs of "Babylon 5"? -- Phillip D., New Port Richey, Fla. DEAR PHILLIP: Briggs died in 2004 of a massive stroke, a terrible shock to his loved ones and co-workers.
DEAR STACY: What is the status of "Southland"? It's a good show with a great cast, whether on network or cable. Hope it's not gone for good. -- N.W., Saugus, Calif. DEAR N.W.: "Southland" is due to return to TNT in January for a 10-episode third season -- with a reduced budget and cast cuts. It is expected that Benjamin McKenzie, Regina King, Michael Cudlitz and Shawn Hatosy will remain as regulars. Tom Everett Scott may return in a recurring capacity, along with Kevin Alejandro, Arija Bareikis and Michael McGrady. DEAR STACY: What happened to gymnast Betty Okino? -- C.S.S., East Hartford, Conn. DEAR C.S.S.: The beautiful gymnastics champ retired from the sport after the 1992 Olympics and went on to a career as an actress and broadcasting personality, in shows such as the Disney Channel's "Z-Games," ABC's "Push" and MTV's "Undressed." She also performed in Sea World's World Rhythm on Ice live show. However, she's been out of the spotlight for several years now. Her last major credits are from 2005 -- the big-screen "Aeon Flux" and an episode of "Everybody Hates Chris."
