DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to the composer, singer and actor Paul Williams? He was very popular and then seemed to drop out of sight. — Sherry, Plainfield, N.J.

DEAR SHERRY: Today, the Oscar-winning ("Evergreen") Songwriters Hall of Famer keeps busy on a number of fronts. He continues to write songs. He serves as president and chairman of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). And he is dedicated to his work in the addictions recovery field. His own substance abuse battle lasted years and took a harsh toll on his career — something he talks about on the lecture circuit. "You know you're an alcoholic when you misplace a decade," says the multi-talent, who's now been sober more than 20 years — and is himself an addictions counselor certified by UCLA. Williams was able to establish himself as a country songsmith for such acts as Diamond Rio in the 1990s. Married with a son and a daughter, Williams' more recent activities include writing the music for Garry Marshall's "Happy Days" stage musical that debuted in 2007.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to fitness show host Kiana Tom? I watched her on ESPN and she was great. — H.B., Canton, Ohio

DEAR H.B.: After 10 years of hosting shows and nonstop traveling, Tom took time away from the limelight to start a family. She and her husband, a fire department captain, and their two daughters are based in Hawaii. She's recently been revving up her professional life again with a large Web presence. She's putting out a new fitness workout weekly and giving fitness tips daily on her kiana.com website — which includes her vlog, links to her Fit Mom TV channel and more.

DEAR STACY: What's become of plans to make a Broadway musical out of "Catch Me If You Can," one of my favorite movies? — Rob C., McLean, Va.

DEAR ROB: Previews are scheduled to begin March 7, with the opening set for April 10 at Broadway's Neil Simon Theatre.

The show received mostly positive reviews during its Seattle preview run last year. It boasts a book by Pulitzer Prize- and four-time Tony winner Terrence McNally ("Love! Valour! Compassion!", "Kiss of the Spider Woman," etc.) and music and lyrics by Tony winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman ("Hairspray"). Aaron Tveit plays Frank Abagnale Jr., the role Leonardo DiCaprio played in the hit 2002 film about the greatest and youngest con man in U.S. history. Norbert Leo Butz plays the Tom Hanks role of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, and Tom Wopat plays Frank Abagnale Sr., who was portrayed by Christopher Walken in the movie.

DEAR STACY: Watching an old "Seinfeld" rerun on TV, my sister said that the show never won any Emmys. Can that be true? — Lois T., Newark, N.J.

DEAR LOIS: No. The show garnered 57 Emmy nominations plus 10 Emmy wins — including Best Comedy Series (1993). However, though his co-stars Michael Richards (with three wins) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus won acting Emmys, neither Jerry Seinfeld nor Jason Alexander ever took home Emmys for their performances. Seven-time nominee Alexander, in fact, wound up on Variety's Biggest Emmy Snubs list.
