Ask Stacy - Week of December 11, 2010DEAR STACY: We always see "It's a Wonderful Life" this time of year and were wondering, is there a real town that Bedford Falls was modeled after? — Tracey C., Spokane, Wash. DEAR TRACEY: Seneca Falls, N.Y., is convinced it holds the distinction of serving as inspiration for the town in Frank Capra's Christmas classic starring Jimmy Stewart. In fact, they're holding a 64th anniversary celebration of "It's a Wonderful Life" this very weekend (Dec. 10-12). However, the movie's Bedford Falls was actually created at the RKO Ranch in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley — Encino, to be exact — from April into the heat of July 1946, complete with fake snow and lots of uncomfortable actors in overcoats. DEAR STACY: What has Fred Dryer been up to lately? — Lance W., Oakland, Calif. DEAR LANCE: The NFL star-turned-actor, 64, has a production company with his son-in-law, Jason Padgett — Dryer/Padgett Films — and they have a movie titled "A Golf Story" in the works that they wrote together. Divorced, the former "Hunter" star has one daughter, Caitlin, and two grandchildren. He's recently been seen as spokesman for the law service Injury Solutions, but with "Hunter" still showing in reruns in some 100 countries around the world, chances are pretty good that he doesn't have to worry about work. DEAR STACY: Did they ever figure out what was the cause of death for former "Welcome Back, Kotter" actress Debralee Scott? — T.C., Springfield, Mass. DEAR T.C.: No.
DEAR STACY: Glad to see Nicole Sullivan of "MADtv" on William Shatner's series, "(Bleep) My Dad Says." I am curious to know about the rest of her life. Is she still doing sketch comedy? Is she married? Children? — G.G., New York DEAR G.G.: Married to actor Jason Packham, Sullivan has two sons, ages 3 and 1. The former "Rita Rocks" star isn't currently doing sketch comedy on any sort of regular basis, but once a sketch comedian, always a sketch comedian.
