DEAR STACY: What is Michael Gross of "Family Ties" up to? — Nat B., Columbus, OH DEAR NAT: The former TV dad keeps acting, with a fifth "Tremors" movie (albeit for home video release) reportedly in his sites — "Tremors: The Thunder From Down Under." He's also done TV roles, on shows including Adult Swim's, "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job," and a stint on daytime's "The Young and the Restless." As for his personal life, Gross has a deep passion for trains. He is part owner of the Santa Fe Southern Railway, and he is the spokesperson for the World's Greatest Hobby campaign, which promotes the hobby of model railroading. He and his wife, casting director Elza Bergeron, split their time between California and New Mexico. Gross is the step-father to her two children, who are now in their 30s.
