Ask Stacy - Week of August 28, 2010DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Huckleberry Fox? — Julie B., Brookfield, Ill. DEAR JULIE: The one-time child actor traded soundstages and cameras for fields and laboratories as an agricultural researcher, working on ecological restoration. You can find video of him talking about his eco-passion — "Care Without Despair" — on the Internet. Fox, who broke into the business at age 8 in "Misunderstood" and went on to numerous other TV and film roles (including playing the son in "Terms of Endearment"), is married and the father of two. He has an impressive academic history, including studying molecular biology at New York University and agroecology, animal science and nutrition at Cornell. DEAR STACY: Please settle a trivial question. Who was the celebrity that fell off of the motorcycle while posing on the red carpet about four, five years ago? Was it Paris Hilton? — Randi M., Palmyra, Maine DEAR RANDI: No, Paris and buddy Kimberly Stewart were on the red carpet together, posing on their respective choppers, when Stewart's bike took off, and she lost control and fell. Luckily, she wasn't hurt in the incident — except, perhaps, for her pride. DEAR STACY: I heard that Paula Abdul might be coming on Simon Cowell's "X Factor" show as a judge. Is that true? Any details? — Eric S., Cleveland DEAR ERIC: Time will tell. It's been reported that the plan is for Abdul to rejoin her former fellow "American Idol" judge Cowell on the U.S.
DEAR STACY: I always liked John C. McGinley on "Scrubs." What's he up to now? — T.B., St. Louis DEAR T.B.: Chances are good that McGinley will turn up on "Cougar Town." Bill Lawrence, producer of both shows, recently said that he intends to get "Scrubs" cast members on his current series. McGinley does voice work on the "WordGirl" animated show. And he continues his role as celebrity ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Society and its Buddy Walk. His 13-year-old son, Max, has Down Syndrome, as you may know. McGinley, in fact, is busiest on the home front at the moment. He and his wife of four years, yoga instructor Nichole Kessler, have 2-year-old and 2-month-old daughters, in addition to Max, who is from McGinley's prior marriage.
