Ask Stacy -- Week of August 27DEAR STACY: I was a regular viewer of "That '70s Show." We see a lot of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis lately. Please tell me what Topher Grace is up to. — B.D., Torrance, Calif. DEAR B.D.: "That '70s Show" lead-turned-film actor is having a very big time. He has the spy thriller "The Double" with Richard Gere debuting Sept. 23. Martin Sheen, Stephen Moyer and Stana Katic are also in the cast. This summer, Grace has been shooting "The Big Wedding," a comedy with a massive cast that includes Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes and Amanda Seyfried. Grace played Republican PR man Jim Wilkinson in HBO's recent, acclaimed "Too Big to Fail" drama about the 2008 financial meltdown. The Curtis Hanson television film earned 11 Emmy nominations. DEAR STACY: There's a commercial for Lipton Tea with a girl who takes a sip and turns into a clear figure with tea leaves inside. I'd like to know the name of the strong song they use in that ad. — Tricia B., Newark, N.J. DEAR TRICIA: That's "I Won't Kneel" by Groove Amanda. DEAR STACY: I'm interested in the Deschanel sisters, Emily and Zooey. Which is the elder? Have they ever worked together? Some background, please. — Cara B., Canton, Ohio DEAR CARA: "Bones" star Emily is 34, and Zooey, title star of Fox's forthcoming "New Girl" comedy, is 31. Their father is esteemed Hollywood cinematographer Caleb Deschanel ("The Passion of the Christ"), and Mom is one-time "Twin Peaks" actress Mary Jo Deschanel. Growing up, the girls traveled a lot to their father's film locations. Zooey has said she didn't like that so much at the time — being away from friends and the world she knew — but now, she appreciates those experiences. Though she's younger, Zooey was the first sister who knew she wanted to become an actress.
Emily, a graduate of Boston College, is married to actor-writer David Hornsby, and they're expecting their first child this fall. Her credits include the films "Cold Mountain," "Glory Road" and "The Alamo." The sisters have a close relationship. Zooey's guest role on "Bones" in a 2009 holiday episode marked the first time they worked together — outside of the plays they put on as kids. DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to the actor Richard Beymer, who had roles in "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "West Side Story"? — Natalie M., Canoga Park, Calif. DEAR NATALIE: Although Beymer's career never delivered the major stardom for which he seemed destined back in the early '60s, the actor has had a busy career. His films range from the acclaimed 1962 war movie "The Longest Day" to the early Angelina Jolie vehicle, "Foxfire." He was featured in the series "Twin Peaks" and had multiple appearances on shows such as "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." Other episodic series credits include "Family Law,' "Profiler," "The X-Files" and "Murder, She Wrote." This 50th anniversary year of "West Side Story" finds Beymer still working occasionally at age 73 and living in Iowa, his home state.
